Sort of... It is in really good condition, but being an Italian bike i decided to check threads about common faults and found there are two connectors in the harness that are prone to overheating, so i found one and the plastic is burnt, so i will need to replace it. I haven't managed to get at the second connector yet as its inside the tailpiece. I checked the voltage across the battery in it was 13.7 at tick over and 13.3 at 4000rpm, so it was slightly low and the connectors that cause it are the ones i'm going to fix. I also took a look at the k&n air filter and it needed cleaning and reoiled. Replaced several bolts with stainless...

Fabulous bike mate  :thumbup  I love Tuonos, great bike to ride as are the Milles. I've had a few and have been hankering after another one.
One weak point on them is the rear brake, worth giving it a good dose of looking at and a bleed.
Hope you enjoy it.  Big Grin

Already checked it :thumbup  I had a Falco a few years ago and the back brake on that was partially seized. This one seems to look ok.

Another one with new boots.....my first decent pair.....didnt get on with my last shorty boots they didnt feel protective.

Be nice to actually do some riding....the trx has beeen serviced & is ready to ride but too much overtime going down & the odd day ive had off has been wet.

If my bike was more easily sellable id try something else this year......always fancied a Tuono Nicko they sound like my cup o tea.....will persevere with the trx for now & continue tinkering with it & bringing it up to scratch.

I've got tcx boots and they are brilliant. I'm taking my tuono out for it's first proper ride today, so i can tinker with the suspension. It sounds amazing.. Neighbours are going to hate me :lol

Looks badass nicko :evil :evil :evil

So that is the Gen 1 then which is the twin and a bit more "raw" than the newer ones.

I really like the character of my little twin but it does run out of puff so I will some day try out a big cc twin.......they mostly get slated for having poor mpg and tank range which doesn't bother me much at the moment.....always liked the look of the TL1000R because they look like the SRAD which is a beautiful looking bike yet with a big twin engine.......but they are heavy and not exactly excelling in particular field..........The Tuono at least excels in being a hoon machine 8)

In other news for the thread....I actually got out last night....my mate just got a series 2 FZ6 so went for a spin down the coast toward Tenby, manorbier, penally and over the "ridgeway" which is an excellent lane spec road over a large ridge with excellent views out over the coast of pembs and all the way over to the Preseli hills.

My little TRX had the jump on the FZ6 at slower take offs as it has the low down grunt my mate was surprised at its acceleration.
I also followed him for a bit and almost home he was keen to gun it off the last roundabout onto the last straight......sadly we were put off our stride a bit by a couple of cars so by then we were already at middle speeds by which time I couldn't get the jump on him but on the overtake and subsequent flatty outyness I kept right with him until I ran out of puff at more than respectable speed for roads so im happy with that as a gauge of where the bike is at. Whipped this little beauty out of the garage and fired it up. Also went for a nip around the block, very naughty, not tax or MOT, I'm expecting the door to come in soon followed by the Serious Crime Squad.
Found out it needs new clutch plates (slipping) and new downpipes (blowing), ah well, sod the expense, new stainless pipes and an EBC clutch kit coming up.
