Hi , anyone help me. I've just done Matlock bath protest ride yesterday, sun.
When I'm going along at say 30 or 40 or 50, but keeping it rock steady, bikes engine is fine. Soon as I open it up, it stutters and judders. Also when on idle the revs are going up and done, the rpm needle is moving up and down a lot , maybe 200rpm difference. Ive just taken fuel filter off today, and one is on its way. Just took fuel tap out of tank, that looks fine. And ordered a new set of ngk cr8e plugs, also on way. Should this cure it ? Or is there something I'm missing. Any feedback would be much appreciated, many thanks Roy

What you've done so far is the right route of eliminating easy stuff, another one is to remove the caps from the plugs and remove the caps from the wire, spray both ends of the cap with wd40 and the wire, thread the cap back on to the wire and replace on to the plug.

Cheers, might try that, if fuel filter and new plugs don't work

Only done 6000 miles in total, it's gonna be something really blatant.
Have you been under the tank at all, and maybe kinked a pipe or not got the fuel tap fully turned on?
Has the air filter ever been changed?

Took plug caps off today, sprayed and screwed caps back on. They don't tighten, tight onto leads do they ?
Mine just keep spinning if turned, but a,re on, as tried slightly to pull off, and wouldn't move. Tank off a t mo, as air filter on way, so don't know if problem has gone.
Spinning like that is normal they don't have a thread on them. Anytime I've had plug cap problems it's shown at idle and low rpm then cleared higher up the revs. Might need a carb clean if it's parked up for a while between uses but I'd agree with everyone saying rule out the simplest stuff first.

The HiFlo i bought filtered too much, and made the bike run terribly as it was being starved of air, so i binned that a few days later when the K&N turned up.
Vast improvement and was really noticeable, especially on a much sharper throttle response.
