Bagster Fitting Instructions
#1
Got a 2nd hand Bagster tankcover today. Thought fitting would be self explanatory but....

Might be some straps missing. I'm not sure.

Anyone got fitting instructions 2000 model.

Went to the Bagster website and although there is a link for fittings I cant get the link to show anything.

Thanks in advance.

I have one fitted to my '98
Two straps either side and one at the front which loops under the front petrol tank mount

The one I have has different length straps on either side with different clips on each side. Do the straps just go around the frame tubes? I can see how this would work on one side but on the other the straps are a lot longer.

Just wondering if its been "modified" at some point. Do you have photos of each side?

Thanks

I'm in a very similar boat. Everything I read about these harnesses refers to clips of some kind on the strap to clip to the bottom edge of the tank. The one I bought just seems to have loops to maybe go round the frame rail with no clever clips. Is this right or am I potentially missing something?

Thanks in advance.

It is actually useless, not next to...

Kebab - do you just have straps around the frame or do you have some kind of clever clip?
thanks

Sorry have been busy recently, I'll try to get out to the garage tonight and even take pics if possible. From reading the above, I'm wondering if there are two different designs...

The 2x2 side straps have plastic clips on them, you loop the strap under the frame, back up and through the plastic clip.

Unfortunately it's a black bag and my camera isn't great at night time  Sad
Pics 2 and 3 are the straps at either side which fit around the frame tubes of the battery and the carb area. As you can see, there's a plastic clip on them near where they attach to the bagster cover.
Final pic is of the steering head loop that goes under the petrol tank's forward mount.

Are your Bagsters' design different?

Thanks for taking the time to do that kebab. Mine is exactly the same - I think I've been looking for some kind of complicated clasp type to clip onto the tank or something that just isn't there..
It's just round the frame, tighten up, done from the looks of it. (Then find somewhere to make the excess look tidy)

thanks again.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Heres what mine looks like. One side. I think this is the original straps and clip looking at the photos above. The rear clip looks like its got a bit missing.

The other side. I think these have been changed at some time in its history!!

This is the clip on the front.

Yeah, the nearest plastic clip in your first picture is how they all look on mine, although I've noted the plastic is very discoloured and will probably break sooner or later.
Perhaps at some stage Bagster have changed the clip design due to a lot of clips disintegrating?

From memory, the Bagster on my previous FZS600 had a broken strap clip like yours.  I think I attached a small safety pin to secure it in place, but put it on the inside of the strap which largely kept it hidden.
