Indicators and the law governing the size

Had some indicators delivered yesterday and they're tiny, the light is about 35 x 20 mm, I wanted discrete but are these legal?

It all depends on if they can be seen or not!  Most cops won't stop you for small indicators. And your MOT dude would have to be a right RS to fail you for them!

There are rules in the construction and use regulations somewhere with regards to size, gap apart, lens configuration etc...
Get a mate to follow you with them fitted, and ask if he can clearly see them, that's usually the best way.

Small indicators are up there with cheapie ebay brake levers! Surly the point of indictors is to let people know where you're going so they don't plough into you. Why would you want to make them smaller? If I was going to modify mine I'd make them bigger with flames coming out

I didn't buy them because they were so small, admitedly I didn't want stock items but these were smaller than I thought. suppose it'll save me trying to hide larger ones
As for turning left and right, thats why we evolved with two arms

I have the Yamaha ones fitted to mine. Personally think it fits with the styling a bit better and IMHO I think the Rizoma indicators are ugly..

Being a genuine Yamaha part they are CE approved so I would have thought must be road legal.
Very bright and flashing speed was corrected with an LED friendly relay from eBay

Not sure I like either the Rizoma or the Yamaha ones. I've always prefered stock or none, but then I've either had faired bikes or unfaired that didn't require them to be fitted.

Guess the upside of the ones I have is it will be easy to loose them in the clutter around the headstock area (going to mount them off brackets bolted to the two forward facing brackets that the fairing or the inners fastened to)

On my last FireBlade I fitted some Allycators from Motrax. Lovely things but with one little fault. The screws that hold on the lens are made from a different material to the Ally so after a year of all weather riding the screws seized in. Ample amounts of Coppaslip helped.
Other than that I loved the subtlety of them.

Honda Civic (side) repeaters just happen to fill the holes left in the fairing after originals are removed. MUCH smoother - and anyway if I want the sheeple to know I'm turning, both arms AND shoulders perfectly serviceable...and they certainly pay FAR more heed to hand signals!
Obviously once the front was looking so much sweeter I had to make her rear end all sexy too, cut off everything off below the brake lights, cut another set of side repeaters in under the rear grab rails.
Just recently bought the combined rear stop/tail/indicator unit? I was worried (on their .com rather than .uk site) it'd be the American style flashing tail light? Not at all, nice ring of amber LED's still showing admirably through the smoked grey lenses.
In for the 100,000k service currently - will add pics ASAP
