Faie helmets and fake leathers were on "fake britain" a couple of mornings ago.

They Tested them at the Dainesse factory in Italy.

Genuine helmet lasted 3 drops onto like a simulated rock from a machine....was still intact...bit skuffed.

Fake helmet tested 3 times and completely split...the guy ripped it open with his hands :eek

The leathers were from Pakistan....all the manufacturer embroidered ones....i see guys wearing them quite often i reckon.....quite common ebay buys.

On the leather testing machine the genuine leathers lasted 5.7 seconds before wearing through.

The fake leathers only lasted 3.5 seconds :eek

Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

It seriously beggars believe why people spend so much on bikes and proceed to buy cheap fakes to just look the part.
I understand on the likes of casual clothes etc but deffinetly a show stopper for me on my bike gear, I always buy from a shop, not even a show, where I can try the kit on and if anything goes wrong, which thankfully it hasn't with any gear I've bought, I can take it back to the shop to get it sorted.
Try doing that if you buy from an auction site or a show etc :eek

Never buy any of my gear on line - need to see, feel it and try it on before parting with my cash. Only buy gear from long established reputable shops/dealers or NEC.
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

I think in many cases, it's more that they've blown all their money on the bike, so they can only afford cheap gear Sad

Some people are crazy!  :wall

I've got some cheap gear, but none of it's fake or pretending to be any anything else other than a good value item.
Putting your vanity ahead of your safety is just asking for trouble. I've got a pair of gloves I got from Lidl that I actually prefer to my
posh branded pair. It's a bad day for all If they're faking the CE and BS safety ratings.
Treat everything in life the way a dog would- if you can't eat it or foc it, forget it.
