Probably not the best way to start off but i recently traded in my FZ8 for a new PCX 125, main reasons are financial and the fact I have a little on on the way!
I've been riding for 2 weeks and my coccyx (tailbone) is tense and a bit sore. It's not sore to the point of excruciating pain but my 40 minute commute is enough for it to tighten up.
I'm trying different riding positions, padded cycling shorts etc... but none of it seems to work. I'm either thinking to keep at it and my back will adjust after 10yrs of riding 600cc motorcycles or
do i make the decision to send it back before I get too far down the line with chronic back pain.
get the seat altered. I had that problem when I had a X9 500.
I remove that so call backrest or hump to give me more room.
went over a bump and the pain !! it almost kill biking till I cut out that hump underneath the seat(allow helmet fit.
once I cut that out no more problems etc.
If I wanted to make a life-long career out of
working with the mentally retarded I would
have opened a Harley Davidson Dealership!
I know big scooters have their place and I'm not having a dig, ride whatever you want but fuck are they depressing to look at! Think the day I want cheap, practical transport with a bit of wind protection I'll get a 1lt car

Go back to the dealer and exchange it for new PS125i or SH125, the PCX seat position and overall design is very bad.
PS125i is better bike why anybody would buy PCX anyway :eek
Try PS125i and you will see the difference. Some time ago I was commuting 80 miles daily on PS125i and have to say the comfort of the seat is superb compared to PCX.

Your Dudeness good 125 scooter has better comfort for town busy riding than most big bikes
And you can filter better on it. You can't filter in 1L car do you? Unless its Smart :lol

All true and they get great mpg, you can store stuff in them, they're easy to ride, cheap tax and Insurance the list is endless but still look at it. It's like trying to justify going around wear nothing but a black bin liner

What's your point? :b
More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.
Jesus Christ! I go away for a few days and my forum post has turned into some bin liner wearing fetish :-p
The PCX is the 2015 version so the seat is better than the previous one but I purchased it because of the amazing reviews!! which clearly didn't state back pain.
this is my first scooter, i've been riding for years from 125 to 800cc bikes, I loved my bikes for touring, riding to work and rides to the coast but I can't deny my mind has changed about city commuting, scooters all the way
Scooters rock, and I speak as a Ducati Panigale (899) rider. For city commuting my SH125i is all i need, its a blast to ride and filter with although I do feel an arse riding it. I just tell people if it all goes tits up work wise I can get a job delivering pizzas.
With regard to seating position, the problem I see with the PCX style is that it makes you sit back on you cocyx, so puts pressure on it, potentially exacerbating the problem.
Simple thing to try first (although you might look a t!t), pull your feet back a little, almost to the pillion pegs to force your body angle to be more upright/forward rather than reclined. Not a permanent solution, and might give you knee ache, but it will tell you if you can improve the position, or just inform you that you need a different riding position.
I'd agree the SH is a more upright riding position and might be better, but would try to change your position riding yours to see if it alleviates the pain, then work out where you go from there.

When I bought my scooter PS125i I actually was going to get PCX because of these "amazing" reviews LOL
Than I sat on it. Than sat on PS and changed my mind and bought it
Have no idea who is writing these reviews I suspect the journalist get payed to praise and promote always the latest models...
Just go back and exchange it mate

Guys thanks for the advice, only had it a month and to sell it for cash means i take a hit. I'll have a look around and see what I can get for it part-ex
