I recognise Skiddaw and Blencathra. Not sure about the pass...looks like...Kirkstone? Where was the campsite?

Campsite at Braithwaite...used it a few times now for short breaks. £12 a night with decent showers etc.
The pass leads down to Buttermere from the Honister Slate Mine.

Ah yeah, I know it. Had some good walks in the fells around Honister and Buttermere; a walk over Haystacks comes down past the slate mine to the café. I was camped by Buttermere that time and walked down that road to get back to the campsite  Smile

Good trip generally?

Wonderful
I was only going for a day-trip due to the forecast but at the last minute the forecast changed and I stayed dry!
Don't need to be away long to have had a break Smile

Fitted some front LED fogs and extra brake light to the back as I'm fed up with people pulling out on my, or nearly rear ending me as I slow to pull onto my driveway.

Only problem is, the fronts have 3 modes (full beam, half brightness and flashing) so you have to cycle through them before riding off. I'd set it to full beam when I left the house and it had managed to end up on flashing by the time I got to work. :o
I think some re-soldering might be needed  Big Grin

Went to Weymouth for fish and chips , tried a different route on the way via Castle Cary , Sherbourne , Dorchester , came out on the A452 , a mix of quaint villages and lovely countryside spoilt by too much traffic and too many 30mph limits which went on for too long out of the villages , came back via the A37 , stopped at CerneABbas , Fazer was great, handling so much better with the r6 shock mod , planted , doesn't skip round corners anymore , and accelerates so much better thanks to full Monty .

That's the Honister Pass johnakay. Takes you out to Buttermere past the Honister slate mines.

A lovely evening ride in perfect conditions. Repeated most of the route I did earlier today, but traffic was too heavy then. Had the roads mostly to myself this evening. Did my favourite parts of the Charlbury TT:

And a beautiful, smooth, winding section of the A44. Not going frantic, just keeping it smooth and flowing, very enjoyable.

I did the most boring economy run on the thou, trying my hardest to squeeze every em pee gee out of it.
Stuck below 55-60 on the motorway, used only 1-3-6 gears, and didn't rev over 4k.

80 miles, and it only managed 55mpg :'(

Am I expecting too much?
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

i did something like this in the cage and i know that its heaver and all that, but although 55mph is good on the flat when i came to any -- even slight incline up i had to gas more and sooner as there was not enough momentum behind me at 55mph.
maybe try it again but at a faster pace and be gentle on the throttle
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

And try using 2,4 and 5th gear too, so you're not having to over open the throttle on those slight inclines fazer mentions
