well sun was out and could gone for a ride but decided instead to carry on modding nicks new bike

i have already installed a new r6 shock and now needed to swap the r1 front from hedgetrimmer 4 to the new hedgetrimmer 5

[Image: 532900_10153073370268800_465016632462471...e=55F50B9E]

end result took 7 hours to completly swap two front ends but i think it looks even better than it did on hedgetrimmer 4

i had to have a little bit of fun

i still have a vcarb swap to do and so odds to tidy up but progressing well

Best mod ever that :lol

Maybe just me but i said this before in particular with another bike in this colour scheme that the silver on the rad sides and pegs etc looks really out of place and needs blackened up imo.

Definate instant improvement looks wise with the R1 forks and good to see a part of the old bike now being a part of the new one. 8)

Finally got some time to fiddle about with the 600!

... it's in rather a shit state...

Still, I pressed on and began some reassembly. Battery on charge and waiting on a few parts and may be able to fire it up in a week or two... or at least try to fire it up.

I still think it will need more or less every bearing replaced (I already did the steering head bearings before it went off the road). I have new wheels so I probably won't need to deal with those at least. I'm guessing the only other one is just the swingarm bearing right?

Before the bike was put off the road, it seemed to have a coolant leak out of the channels in the head... I'm hoping this is just my imagination but I'll find out soon enough

If it eventually turns out to be mechanically ok, then I'll begin prep on the cosmetics

Found out that it needs to be sold and cut my losses. Going to stick it on the 'Bay for £1200.

Got to find another one by the end of June.

Gutted!

EXUP Valve seized, if I have to take the exhaust off to fix/replace it all the studs will snap, to get at them properly the engine will probably have to come out, EXUP cables gone, EXUP pulley gone. The servo still sounds like its working tho. Slight oil leak, probably from the front sprocket oil seal but im too frightened to take the cover off to have a look in case I find something even worse. Tape on the seat hiding a split.
Once ive done all of the above it will still be worth less than I paid for it in my opinion.
Its too tatty for me, even the screw heads under the seat are rusty. By the time ive got it looking anything like nice it will have cost way, way more than its worth..
I'm going to take off the full luggage and sell separately. Which is why I need a set of rear indicators and grab handles.

Shame coz I rode it for the first time since i bought it 3 months ago yesterday and I love they way it goes and handles.

It should sell ok on the 'Bay, its low mileage (26K) with lots of history, hugger, adjustable pegs, heated grips, good tyres and C+S, loud can, 11 months MOT, belly pan, dyno charts to prove 131 RWHP (ok so it was a few years ago), pyramid flip screen, its got a gear position indicator but I unwired it yesterday as it didn't seem to be working properly.

I just want it gone now so i can buy a nice one.

I should have the courage to walk away from a sale if I'm not 100% sure, but he was a nice guy and I sort of convinced myself that it would be ok, what a dick!
