What did you do with whatever else you've got?
(27-04-15, 02:25 PM)nickodemon link Wrote: Started the strip down and stripped down the throttle cable and lubed as it was sticking. Also started polishing the frame.. You can see the part that's polished... Just need to do the rest of the frame and forks. The rear tyre has a nail in it Sad , so will take to bike shop to get a plug put in it. Going to check amount of oil in the forks as the front end is really soft :\

Added 30ml of 10w fork oil to the forks and there is now damping! :eek  Just waiting for the fork seals to explode... :lol
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

Attempted the kessel run, but with a top speed of about 8mph I don't think I have much chance of breaking the record!

Washed all the crud from yesterday  off the new Guzzi , chamoised it , applied GT85 to the metal parts ,WD40 silicone bike shine to the shiny parts , cleaned the exhausts with Autoglynn metal polish .

I saw a 14 plate V7 Guzzi in the early '70s Black/Red colours today. Parked up at the top of the A50 slip road off the roundabout where it crosses the A38.

It wasn't yours was it?

Mines a 15 plate , stopped at WSM in bike park near big wheel , had a coffee across the road , took advantage of the afternoon sunshine , i have got to put at least 80miles a week on it for the next 2 months as its booked in for its 1st service , its a tough life .

I don't think the one I saw was parked there because its a good place to park. You would only leave your bike there if you had run out of fuel or it broke. Shame coz they're a lovely looking bike.

Kicked the cat after the sod that was supposed to come and check out my GPZ never showed up.

Not really - but I felt like it!  :b

Checked the tyre pressures on the Guzzi  , and noticed the locking nut on the front wheel tyre valve had worked loose , tightened it up and figured out why the mirror kept working loose despite tightening the nut up  , Took the Guzzi out to Cheddar and back via Chew Valley , maybe its because the bike is smaller but i feel more confident cornering on the Guzzi than i do on the Fazer  , but first popped into Fowlers to buy a pair of goggles as the visor on the new open face helmet is only  good  up to 60mph then my eyes water , what a difference with the goggles , my eyes didn't water at all despite taking it to 80mph .

With the front springs replaced and a more sympathetic MOT tester sourced the ZS is now back on the road!! The RX-8 has been out for it's last little trip and parked up on the drive with the SORN now declared and insurance cancelled. Going to aim to get a cover for it and give it a wash before hand to keep it from deteriorating whilst it is off the road.

Decided to dodge the showers after work  and took the Guzzi  out for a spin this afternoon , went up the A38 , through Winford , Chewstoke , pass the Bluebowl , up over the mendips onto Shepton Mallet , then onto Frome , pass Longleat , stopped at the Little Chef , headed towards Bath , through Bath , then onto Keynsham , and up Queen Charlton into Bristol and back home , still cold for May .
