I'd say your dam lucky to be able to write on here to tell your story!
I've saw truck tyres blow and it ain't pretty, normally the wall of the tyre gets blown right off, they are generally between 90 to 120 psi so it's quite a bang. They also sometimes come off the rim once they've blown, that's the big bits you see lying on the side of road, so count yourself a lucky man, and don't be so close to a truck the next time you pass one. I drive trucks for a living, but when I'm on my bike, or car for that matter, I get over as much as I ca. It's not just the tyres you need to watch if you do pass close, it's the wind difference, that can suck you in towards the truck and it's also a scary feeling, keep out of the windstream :-)

It also happened to Luke when we were in the States riding up through Florida. The tyre blew and the whole tread came off like a flailing crocodile nearly taking his head off.
Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad
