V6 RD1200LC!
#1
In this month's Classic M/C Mechanics magazine, some utter nutter has commissioned Stan Stephens to build the most loony-tunes stroker I have ever heard of. Taking one-and-a-half RD500LC engines, he plans to use Yamaha Banshee (racing quad) barrels stroked to 54mm. No powervalves, ported and fully tuned (although to give a bit more in the mid range rather than full-on top end. Looks like power output could be in the region of 200bhp!  :eek

:crazy :b

Well it's possible in this months practical sportbikes mag theres 2 LC's one with 102bhp and another with 90bhp both are around 498cc so pretty impressive

Possible, yes; he's got all the crankcases matched and welded and barrels fitted (ish). Reasonable?! I just can't imagine it being at all rideable. 200bhp in a 4T is one thing, but a 2T that delivers most of it's power in a short, high rev band?  :eek

My Denco H2 was bad enough. Can't imagine it was putting down more than about 90-100bhp, but all in one dollop of lunacy, and even with a Dresda s/arm that was about 2'' over stock, you couldn't keep the front wheel on the deck  :lol

Whatever happened to that 1000 v twin someone was building from cr500 motocross barrels.  I remember him machining the cases with no cnc!
Intentionally left blank

The thing is Nick it only needs to run every now and then as it'll end up being a garage queen, it's like the guy milliard who built a V12 Z2300 and that bloody viper powered bike he also did some mad Kawasaki 2 stroke with a stupid big engine (small ones joined together...lol) they just end up as oddballs at bikeshows etc

He is an engineering genius tho,one of his most recent creations was a 5 litre V-twin based on 2 cylinders from a radial aircraft engine :eek.
