Went to try to start it - no go, just a very faint neutral light  Sad

I had a feeling that this battery was on the way out. 9.3V after only sitting in the garage for one month. Got a new one on charge now. If it stays dry tomorrow, I'll pop out for a quick spin.

Stuck yellow head light covers on, very Valentino!

(and works well in the dark night commutes...)

Rode it for the first time in nearly 5 weeks  Big Grin

Only a 15 minute spin to see how I cope, and was ok, but don't reckon I could do much distance just yet. It was fairly uncomfortable on the knee towards the end of that. I could shift back a bit on the seat to relieve it somewhat, or dangle the leg straighter for a bit when not cornering, but needs more time before I can do something like, for instance, test ride a Street Triple  :b

However, after an outpatients appt. at the trauma clinic today, doc has just signed me off for 3 more weeks  Big Grin

Double-edged sword though, as I'm climbing the walls already, and don't expect a lot of great biking weather now.

It doesn't matter how crippled blokes get theres always the abilty to bang one out :lol

Good to hear that you're getting better Nick....that was me last year as i came off at the start of September i think and then had to read a few months of folks posts about where they'd been.

This year i've only just put the bike away but i wouldn't want to tempt fate by riding through all the shite weather plus all that money you're saving on fuel and stuff can go towards another bike. 8)

Fortunately, I had my stack at the end of "the riding season" (here it comes... :rolleyes), so I got all the best of the year's riding in Big Grin From now until spring the riding will be pretty much limited to dry days with dry roads, so not a lot.

Unfortunately, most of what I would have saved by being off has now been spent on the R1 fork conversion :lol  Plus of course, sick pay isn't a great deal, but at least I do get some.

Weather looking ok for tomorrow, so I might get out again for another brief spin.

Nicks first day back on his bike after a few weeks recuperation, but concerned about the lack of damping on the shock. :lol

I've not ridden for about 6 weeks so I had to check the tyre pressures and pump them up, give it a wash, charge the battery because it wouldn't start and THEN....blinged it up a little ready for the Whitstable Toy Run tomorrow.
