Just realised I'd broken forum etqieutte and not introduced myself before jumping into asking you folks questions and buying shocks
I emigrated here to NZ over 3yrs ago and used to have a FZS600 way back which I loved... I then upgraded(!) to a Bandit 650 and then an Aprilia Falco which I brought over to NZ with me. Unfortunately the bike met its makers... long story... but ended up buying a DL1000 which was prompty sold 6 months later... then my mate in the UK was selling his Fazer thou and I had to have it... so its now here with me down under.
It hasn't been tinkered with much, and has been very well looked after, a credit to my friend. I bought it with a Remus endcan and it had the Yamaha fairings, but that was it. I haven't done much to it as yet, clear indicator lenses, some carbon detailing, e-scottoiler and some new levers... but since it will be off the road for a month or two when its long overdue its service (plus less time to ride with the in-laws visiting!) its a good time to upgrade various pieces...
Planned are R6 shock, new springs (K-Tech or RaceTech, havent decided yet) with a fork rebuild, Ivans kit & new gaskets, usual service stuff plus a good clean up. Already spent some time getting the shine back into the end can (I don't know why, but my mate decided to make the s/s exhaust matte... but its back to its former glory now). Also have new bits and pieces for EXUP, including a new pulley.
Here is a recent pic... look forward to chatting to you all and gaining lots of new information
