After my accident my Nike is being classed as a cat D write off, I am going to keep the bike but they want me to get an independent engineers report as well as a new mot or they will cancel my insurance, so I have to pay £130 just to satisfy them, all because the footrest hit the chain guard and broke the fixing bracket, so I have to replace the swinging arm which isn't a major issue but an mot will have pick up if the bike is unsafe or not. Even my local dealer said an mot is all that is needed. And they have gave me 28 days to get it done. And at the moment I still can't walk without crutches.
why can't the front bracket be welded back on? or if missing, another made up and welded on?
i have a spare swing arm in the garage if you need one.
hope you are not in pain and are running about soon.
is it clean enough?
i didn't realise trainers were that expensive
and why on earth they want you to go and get another MOT for a cat d. cat c definately. seems like they are trying to pass their costs onto you.
explain in a nice way that THEY are the insurance co and it is THEIR responsibility when inspecting the vehicle to ascertain it's condition/value, not yours. how can they make an offer if there is another £200 or so to be spent on it.
finally, your policy for that bike will cease the moment they send you the cheque as a payout usually ends the contract.
The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money!
28 days to get it done .... or what?
is it clean enough?
