What did you do with whatever else you've got?

Also fitted flush led indicators to the front, and plate mount led indicators to the rear of the R1. Much neater, just got to get an led relay to slow the flash down now.

No pics of that R1 then Stevie? :photo .........also i'm curious....your Gen2 Vs this old R1 which is boss?......i think i can trust you to give an unbiased opinion.

Just got a couple of shots before I put my bar end mirrors on Noggy, but the comfort kit is fitted with a set of fat bars.

Compared to the fz1..... It's almost like comparing the gen 1 to the gen 2.
It's about 30kg lighter,  and the bottom end torque is awesome , as well as wheelie prone top end. 45-50 mpg, 130-150 mile tank range!
The fz sems a bit more stable in the bends (probably down to the weight), and better for a pillion.
Got to rebuild the forks this winter, and looking at jet kits and 4 deg advancer which is sat on my shelf atm. And maybe a full gen 1 Nosecone to make her an R1/FZS hybrid.

Watch this space.......

Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

It does look the business stevie 8) .....& range sounds good...well simillar to gen 2 anyway.

Interesting to hear about stability.....but i was analysing today and i know folk say oh the gen2 is an upright sportsbike but what i've found is that you cant really corner properly on it while being semi upright & if i go down on the tank i can corner pretty good but the tank is just the wrong shape for me to do that for too long and the tendency is to want to sit upright again...ive gotta force myself to stay down.

Luckily for me at 100kg naked it isn't too easy for me to accidentally wheelie the FZ as i have plenty weight over the front end.....so i can really put the power down.....i can gun it in 2nd up to the redline and the front is light and skimming about but im not cartwheeling...i dont exactly feel in control but it sure is fun 8)

Got to admit that the R1 is a bit more responsive than the fz, in both cornering and acceleration, but it'd be a close one in a drag race between my old bike and the new one!
I could corner the fz like a demon, but as you said, your sat upright. I wore out the edges of my last rear tyre, but it always felt stable, and never skittish like my R1, but then again, the forks are a bit buggered!
In some ways I miss the fz, and in other ways glad I've got the R1.

"an old mower"...cheeky foccer  :lol .......is a bit agricultural, single cylinder, four stroke...not as smooth as the mighty fazer  Wink .......bit like that husky mower you have  :lol :lol :lol

well done mr crisp....a cb 250 rs .....better than a wet dream...single cylinder,4 valve head, twin exhaust ports and i think it was the fastest four stroke 250  back in its day.....my brother bought one brand new back in 1981,i had a couple of them a few years ago, great under rated bikes...this one needs a bit of fettling but it is road legal..did have a years tax on it but of course with the recent rule change that had to stay with the old owner....bought off gumtree right under nick crisps nose...a few miles up the road in whitney....nice bloke who loves his bikes and currently has a gsx 1400......not sure on the colour though  :eek

Always fancied one of those myself, good little town bike.
Of course, yellow means that's a quick one - not sure you'll be able to handle that Paul  :lol Actually, doesn't look right at all in that colour; are you keeping it that way?

So why this? Just fancied it, or good for your commute, or...?

not yellow nick, orange with a white stripe down the middle.....not sure what iam doing with it yet,my spares fazer was going to be a cafe racer/flat tracker but i dont think it would have worked well without throwing loads of cash at it,thats why i sold it.....think it will work with the rs though, those alloy wheel rims will help, they are pitted and painted between the spokes but will clean up well.....i want to get on with the x7 this winter but the rs was a very good price so i snaped it up  Smile
