foot pegs front+rear options?
#1
I have been told by a fleabayer that some YZF/FZR 600  footpegs will fit my 600 fizzy (yr 2000). Is this correct and any particular year of FZR/YZF. I thought the YZF was pretty same bike anyway?
TIA

Are you building your bike from scratch?
Does it not have it's own parts already?
You seem to be touching or altering absolutely everything.

I hear that the dust caps from a 1976 Scammell Crusader Heavy Haulage lorry will fit the Fazer, either the 600 or 1000 version.  Smile

Nob  :lol ERM, I've had a very tragic RTA and need a few spares. Rest of stuff I've done is to check over the bike and replace bits here n there. Only cost £600 , yr 2000 , so I don't need to worry about a bit of expense!. Not that I need to explain anything but as its u  :pokefun

fancy billet/alloy

loads out there and reasonable value (cost vs quality) but mainly for YZF FZR R1 R6 - loads , try searching yourself for front AND rear allu pegs for a fz 600; loads for YZF 600 (same year) just need to know if they fit  - as in has someone tried ??

Perhaps ask seller for measurements.

Would be interresting (but not that interesting)  to to know as it would make finding  rearsets easier

I found an ebay listing for a fazer 600 with r1 rearsets fitted. From a 5jj model. You'll probably need the rear brake master cylinder and reservoir, and to mod the gear shifter rod.
Not sure if you'll need to mod the hole centres etc.
A mate of mine has the same model R1 and I've been meaning to measure up for my project bike, just not got round to it.
I'll see if I can find it again.

A lot of the pegs are interchangeable between models but just the pegs- I wanted to swap the hangers with my Harris rearsets I had for my T'cat but the frame holes were different distances- by millimetres I might add!

I ended up getting to online parts catalogue for the fzr YZF and fzs . different part numbers but also look different and fix different, so I deduce they don't interchange

They change the position of your footing, more suitable for high speed or racing.
Probably a bit higher and further back than normal.
Not great for normal street riding, and trust me, if you change them you will get cramp for a while.

So that website tells me it will give me a more stable base---- but im not wobbly now
More comfortable-------but I'm comfy now.
Better grip for my feet----- but they are not slipping off now.
More ground clearance--- - my pegs are just fine the way they are I get plenty of ground clearance now as they are set so that the blobs hit the deck just before I either run out of tread or grind the exhaust or centre stand or lower crash bars.
And as I only ride in the street then clearly they are not for me, maybe I am lucky in that I am a perfect fit for the bike the way it is as standard.
Guess that they just dont work as well on an fzs600 as they do on other bikes

And any bike mag or website that desribes my bike as being a "steed" has lost me already.

Still dont know why they are called rearsets

Your legs get put into a more backward race position, hence rear sets.
Go and sit on a GSX600 and see the difference in riding position.
It will add pressure on your wrists too if just riding as normal, but when you're doing 100mph+ then it will all become comfortable.

It's called a "steed" because it's known as a good all round work horse.
