Managed to strip the thread on the oil drain sump like a ham fisted idiot! I'm going to helicoil it but need to know what size I need? I've read that the sump plug is m15 x 1.5, is that right?
Bike is a 98 fzs600

I replace the sump plug every oil change; not sure if a new thread helps [on the plug] but I've never had this problem.

There's absolutely no reason whatsoever to have to do this?
If the plug is just nipped up, rather than over wrenched then it should last forever.
It's not like it's weight bearing or doing any majorly important role, it's just plugging a hole.
It should never even seize up because the thread is covered in oil when putting it back in, this would really only happen from cross threading due to over tightening!

What is thus lunacy I see before me? I must have changed the oil on my 600 5or 6 times - I've never stripped the thread, and guess what? I've never replaced the sump plug either, or had a leak from it. Can't beat empirical evidence...
