What can you do on a FZS600 in an hour?


Tonight changed oil and filter (Castrol Power 1 and K&N), air filter (K&N), new spark plugs including checking the gap (no need, spot on).  Bang on an hour.

to be serious (can we be that here) ... jobs I've done in less than an hour:

• drive chain freeplay check and adjustment
  
• front wheel bearings and seal replacement
  
• coolant flush and refill
  
• Double bubble screen install
  
• engine oil & filter change
  
• Rear wheel bearing and seal replacement
  
• headlight mod (for 2 full time lights on)
  
• tyre pressure check
  
• New end-can - although this may affect exhaust in the head so may, MAY, require rejet or some adjustement elsewhere; I personally have not replaced the end can
  
• LED DiGi gear install
  
• Radiator guard mod install
  
• carb balance
  
• mini LED indicator install
  
• Brake cable freeplay / dial setting and adjust
  
• LED tail light mod
  
• Anodised foot pegs install
  
• Scottoiler install
  
• Air + Fuel filter change
  
• pre MoT test and general safety check
  
• Bleed brakes and replace brake fluid
  
• Throttle cablfreeplay check and adjust
  
• Clutch cable freeplay and adjust
  
• Bike clean and bodywork polish - if youre not anal about polishing metal with toothpicks like some people
  
• TPS check and adjust
  
• Brake pad change
  
• Front drive sprocket cover removal and clean out of all the gunk and shit
  

Any 1 of the above (and perhaps more than 1 depending on ability and toolkit) in less than an hour, with the right tools.

Hm, maybe I should modify my question to "what to do on a FZS600 with a spare 10/20/30 minutes".


My last brake fluid change took about a week 'cause I couldn't get the air out and slammed the shed door for 6.5 days.

Half of the job is having the right tools mate; the other half is the knowledge and competence.

I use a vacuum bleeder - bought off fleabay - which you attach to the bleed nipples and pump it, it then creates a vacuum in the system and "pulls" the fluid out - or the air - depending how well you have done. It took minutes. I dont know what on earth it took you a week ??? Get the right tool mate.

We'll, took a couple of hours, with a week in the middle after having a paddy an going "FOC this".  And during that week it pretty much bled itself with the air making it's way back to the reservoir!

Also works on cars to improve brakes on there too
