Now to learn about re-jetting!!!

Hey Gregg......sounds frustrating.....it has got to be something up with the carbs surely mate......if your engine hasn't  done mega miles then i wouldn't even bother swapping it as you can even store it for a just incase or make your money back on it selling it on......bit of a shame but my carbs are going tomorrow otherwise you could have got them.

But re jetting the fazer isnt required with simple mods.....pipes, end cans or filters dont make any difference to it.......mine had stainless pipes, k&n and an end can and it had totally standard carbs.

I bet if you managed to swap over those carbs briefly for a known good set then your problem would be gone

Oh hang on a minute :think ...........didnt you help someone out with a fuel tank recently?????......someone close by with a set of known good carbs.........no names but rhymes with shark tales :b :b :b
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

Ha ha!! Thinking about it he is away at the moment, I'm sure he won't mind me popping around his with some tools and 'borrowing' his carbs for a while!! Ha ha

Think it may be a simple strip down, clean and refit job before doing anything drastic like messing with the jets.

Difficult job??

So quick update on this, carbs fully stripped cleaned and re-built. Issue at 3/4 to full throttle still there.

All breather pipes checked, issue still there.

Air filter removed, issue still there.

Exhaust can removed, issue still there.

No matter what is done, my bike hits 7k RPM at 3/4 to full throttle and dies!!

More investigation tomorrow.
