Hello folks,
Just joined the forum as a complete novice. Took a basic introduction to motorbikes this week having not riden a bike in 20yrs (I'm 43) First up was a Suzuki 125 followed by an hr on a KTM 500 in a closed envirnoment. Think I might have caught the bug!! Asked a few questions of my instructor and was told that if I am to progress a Fazer 600 or Suzuki Bandit would be the way to go. Done a little reading and the Fazer seems to be the better bike, so here I am!
Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated, thanks for reading

Welcome to the forum. You wont do better than a Fazer FZS 600 for starters. My preference is for the 2002/3 Foxeye as has better lights and larger tank than earlier incarnations. Theres one or two owners your side of the Irish sea who I am sure will come along shortly. Where are you: North/South?
Ken-talk to "unfazed"-hes not a million miles away from you in County Cork. he recently posted about his search for a "Foxeye".
Have travelled through Tipperary on way down from Galway City and did B&B in sight of the Galty mountains(Bansha?) My ancestry is Kilkenny/Tipperary so have great affection for the Emerald Isle! Good luck with your search-theyre great bikes!

Cheers Dave will certainly look up "unFazed". Bansha is only 5 miles from me, did you have a pint in Nellies or O'Heneys by chance? :b I know the Galtee mountains very well and would love to ride a Fazer on some of those roads! Although as I said very much a nubie so plenty to sort out before I get to that stage
Slim Willy I'm in Tipperary 100 miles south of Dublin.
