Brilliant ride in the warm sunshine, all kinds of roads ridden, including one I thought you only found the like of in the Lakes, Scotland, Wales - steep, steep descent of Long Mynd (if that's how you spell it), first gear at times, hanging off the back brake, gravel all over t'surface, God knows what gradient. And a good mix of fast A and B roads, little winding single track lanes, and some nice places visited:

Stokesay castle

Nice view from a hill  :lol

Been meaning to visit this one for years; am I right in thinking that built in MDCCLXXIX (painted on the bridge)= 1779?

More hills  :rolleyes

Nick.....totty does not visit old iron bridges.. :pokefun

Totty goes jogging gently down the prom with earphones in & toyt shorts.....not too fast so they can be viewed more....plus breaking a sweat may make the make up run.

Tottys idea of "the financial crisis" is when they were £100 short on getting those must have shoes for 1 night only.

Totty is abundant in every shop, cafe & petrol station scraping up the funds for their education......which all gets spent on the above named must have shoes.

All this and more is what Aber beholds........& i'm still young enough to look :b
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

TBH the latest album isn't that good, too like the 80's stuff before he really learned to play a guitar. I can't recommend them enough live though, the show was amazing.

That is not getting lost but a bit more of an unplanned adventure  :lol
220mile in 6 hours were you stopped in Brecon for a long time?  :rollin

What mileage is on that bike? as you know mine is the same vintage and also the fastest colour and always had character  :lol It is presently being used around south Wales by my son. You cannot miss it it has R1 gold spot Calipers and 03C Irish registration.

I like the 'unplanned adventure'!  Big Grin

It was basically Coventry - Stratford - Worcester - Hereford - Brecon, 2 hours, 1 hour having lunch, Brecon - Hereford - Ross-On-Wye - Ledbury - Malvern - Worcester - Stratford - Coventry, 3 hours.  :\

The bike hit 40,000 a couple of weeks back, is that high for one of these? How long before a rebuild is due?

40,000 is just run in, mine is 79,000ish and a few foccers have over 120,000 on them. Change the Oil and filter at the recommended intervals, the usual regular maintenance and it will be fine Smile

The spice of any bike run "The unplanned adventures" :lol which have been ruined by sat navs :eek

Finally got round to going out for a ride for the sake of riding - must have been 4 or 5 weeks since I last managed that. Going to be another 4 or 5 by the time it happens again as well Sad

Been putting the Gilles rearsets on Smile

A few problems but got around them with a bit of garage engineering. Big Grin

[smg id=1942 type=preview align=center caption="Brake side on"]

Then had a look at the gear change rod which Gilles make go on the outside of the frame for the reason that the pegs are adjustable, so the rod moves up or down when you move the pegs,,so the rod going through the frame will snag,or not line up..so i checked the peg position , then drilled and tapped the lever and reversed the rod mount and hey presto,,rod goes through the frame.

Fitted new (to me) front calipers as mine were quite worn. New pads, got front forks setup better, cleaned the scotoiler dual injector, waited fo new chain and sprockets to arrive but they didn't Sad

Went up North to a friend's to watch LeMan's MotoGP, and have HEL braided hoses fitted to front brakes. With some fancy blue DOT4 as well!

On the way back down, saw a lad texting on his phone, whilst dozing along in the fast lane. And then today I saw this helmet sticker idea!!!

As per Pats instructions . Took the throttle housing cover off and lubed the cables , took the choke housing cover off  and removed the clutch lever and lubed the cables , also cleaned and applied wd40 to the electrical terminals .
Removed the exup valve and cleaned and regreased and reassembled , and lubed the exup cables , whilst doing this noticed the bottom exup cable is frayed , something to keep an eye on .

Picked it up after treating it to some PR2's, braided hoses, chain and sprockets and a brake lever, filled the tank with nad-cooling go juice, disturbed classes in 15 primary schools dropping of some flyers for the after-school clubs we run and then headed down to Spilsby Bike Night. Arrived home with fuel light just coming on and a big grin  Big Grin

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you sold a blue gen 1 to get a red gen2? You're really not getting the hang of this colour thing, are you!  :lol

Took it for MOT - sailed through of course  Big Grin

Oh yeah, and dropped it!  :eek
Dozy pillock that I am, I parked up on White Horse Hill to get a couple of shots, gradient was too steep and I didn't put it in gear, so it rolled off the side stand  :rolleyes Thankfully, NO damage done as it went over onto a soft verge with me trying to keep it up, but had to let it go down - doh! And just before the feckin MOT!
