Not sure if my attempt at posting images will work, but here's the bargain I picked-up on Saturday, from a very nice man in Ulverston. He could not have been nicer or more helpful. The bike is a one-owner, 1998, 13,200 miles, FSH, full hard luggage, heated grips, Bridgestone 021 with 340 miles on them, every MOT, 12 months new MOT, 6 months tax, nice jacket, gloves and Revolver lock for ...... £800!! Well pleased to say the least. Bike is lovely to ride with no issues whatsoever mechanically. Slight scuff on left nose fairing leading edge, but that's it!
Now back with me in the North East, following a hairy and wet ride over the tops from Ulverston via Windermere, Ambleside, Kirkstone to Ullswater, then on to Northumberland. Bike never missed a beat. I was like a drowned rat however! Thank goodness for the heated grips!
The age of bargain deals from nice people is alive and well - I know, because I found them!
Forgot to add, having the seat done, 2 inches of foam added, re-shaped for 'straight' profile (without dip) then recovered, for a cost of £35 by local upholsterer and some crash mushrooms fitted to the frame mounting points, so I can put my feet on them as a kind of relieving peg. This will give me a longer/straighter leg position, as my legs and hips suffer on the longer runs
Happy days!
What a bargain, that's not a typical price for sure!
It'll be interesting to see the seat when you've done, make sure you post photos. As for crash mushrooms as footrests - I'm not so sure. I've got them on my bike and I tried resting my feet on them the other day, and the vibration levels were just uncomfortable!

You're right. Comes of being retired and having too much time on my hands to literally scan Ebay/Gumtree/Pistonheads/MCN/Bike Trader/Pre-loved/etc every couple of hours, then move quickly when you spot the obvious good deals.
As for the luggage system, not sure I'll need/use it, so should be able to sell them on easily enough, complete with frames and bespoke indicators for at least £250, making the bike £650!
