what did you do with your fazer today ?
Changed the oil and fitted K&N oil filter. took it for the first spin of the year, man what a huge smile on my face.

Incidentally some creepy guy approached me in an Aldi car park ranting about foccing with his friends in some kind of male orgy based role playing forum and riding his internet or something... I'm pretty sure he threatened me with a paddock stand at one point too.  :b

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

took the other half down to rye today she's still not very comfortable on the back Sad got to fit a back box and see if that helps?and she says the seats to hard :\ only did 140 miles there and back our tour to france this summer is not looking good if i cant make it more comfy :\
Kit No offence but I think you should learn to cook and scrub and your good lady should learn to ride so she can replace you on our rideouts.
This idea has 2 benefits
1. easier on your shocks
2.easier on my eyes (since I'm always chasing)

Took it out for a 100 mile run to check that the following stuff I've fitted at the weekend  didn't fall off!

R&G tail tidy
Dark tint DB screen
GB Racing engine covers
Pazzo brake & clutch levers
Coyotomoto crash bungs
EBC HH brake pads
Clear indicator lenses
New air filter
New oil filter
Fresh oil
New spark plugs.
Fresh Dot 4 brake fluid

Luckily, nothing fell off and the brakes feel a lot sharper now! Have always fitted EBC HH pads to all my bikes over the past few years.

Still waiting on the Scorpion Serket stainless steel exhaust I ordered  to be delivered.

The last thing on my shopping list is a digital gear indicator.

Snapped an exhaust stud! So happy!

Got it back from the dealer 15 minutes ago, after he did the following work:

new generator (ouch!)
new OEM rear shock and linkages
new chain & sprockets
new throttle cable
new fork oil
new oil and filter
HEL brake hoses
new brake pads
new mirrors (ones I've had for 5 years under warranty that I never got round to fitting)
beowulf titanium exhaust (baffle sitting on my desk  :eek )
new Bridgestone T30 front and rear (used to BT23s and these are supposed to be better)
deep clean

Since that lot cost a bit, I'm keeping the FZ1 for a few more years and will probably get a few more bits done - such as new downpipes and possibly an Ohlins shock.

Looking forward to riding it home. Have only ridden it 4 times this year since the floods affected things badly where I am.

Doing the usual commute today, but it's what I'm doing tomorrow that's cool.
I got a text message from www.circuitbasedtraining.co.uk saying "The first person to rely to this text gets an advanced cornering course half price for 05-04-14."
I was in there like a shot!

What rear shock did the dealer put on and why did you not just a pay a bit extra for the Ohlin's if that's what you desire

I simply wanted to keep the cost down so made do with another Yamaha OEM shock for the FZ1. The earliest I'll consider buying a new bike is likely 2017. If I decide to get an Ohlins shock and the forks done too before then, I'll hang onto it for much longer.
