FZS600 XENON HID PROJECTOR INSTALL VIDEO
#1
Finally got around to installing a couple of 2.5" Xenon M328 HID projector units into my '00 Fazer 600.  Evenings are getting lighter now, so a bit late but never mind it needed doing!

Here's a video of my install which may be of interest to anybody thinking of doing the same mod:

I have done the other upgrades so far
took shroud off H1 bulb, wired up H4 for dipped and that makes a big difference

the next will be to upgrade the bulbs, when the old ones blow

It is worth checking out all your wiring as I found someone had done a bodge job repairing the electrics before, at least I have all the equipment to do a proper repair and small rewire

I think if I had a newer bike and money I would go for HID

Happy biking and clear roads

Nicely done - do you still have dipped option and high beam option?

Yeah mate, there is a solenoid inside the unit that actuates a little flap providing full and dipped beam.

Love the new lights.  Probably one of the best light upgrades i've seen. The original lights are shite.

What i'd like to see, is a night time shot at around 25feet away from a wall (preferably white wall), so i can see how sharp the cut-off is.  Could you do that sometime?
i ask because i'm having projectors fitted at the moment, (not ebay ones, but the ones that the ebay ones are copied from...) and would like to see the quality.  I suspect the QC isnt as good (no disrespect meant).
cheers

Well only had an old curtain not a white brick wall to set and show the dipped cut off.  I poked the top of the curtain into the hedge then slapped a bit of masking tape across for my reference line, to adjust the dipped head light cut off to.

That looks genius Gav, nice one!
Any chance of letting us know what box of lights you used specifically? Or a link to where they can be purchased?

Do a search for xenon M328 or here

Give yourself a weekend to do the job. Or chip away at it over 3 or 4 evenings kind of thing.  It's getting the electrics neat and safely installed that takes up half the time.

Fella, that cut off is stepped for LHD not uk RHD.  The up slope should go to the left

could be just the way it looks on the sheet so I'd run it up to garage door or something.  It's a bit more than a tweak required, you'd need to strip the projectors out, remove the cut-off plate and basically make another cut-off plate but in reverse and fit one to each projector.

US/Europe etc LHD:

UK/RHD:

you can see how the slope is either up to the right for vehicles that drive on the right, or up to the left for vehicles that drive on the left.

DOT pattern is US/Canada, ECE is for europe

Pretty sure the flap inside was flat. Will twist the lamp a fraction and also adjust horizontal beam a bit. Well come the MOT I will find out if I need to mod the  flaps.  Cheers for taking the time to reply with all the pics.  Good reference.

No worries, have a look at this page and you can see the disassembled cutoff shield (first image), you'd need to replicate that but reversed
