Bought pair of 2nd hand mirrors for £25 to replace the one that popped its pivot yesterday before my run to the Ace Cafe, got two fairing infills from the same chap with intact brackets and no splits, for an extra £25, result.

Why, do you get much traffic through your bedroom/project work centre?
Coz they sure won't be seeing them on any PICS  Wink

Ok, that may be "big whoop!" from some of you, but it's the first real "get the top off and do something" I've actually done on the bike instead of taking it to a stealer.

I was going to do an oil and filter change too, but whilst looking at the details online and in the Haynes Book I realised I might need a new sealing washer for the plug and I didn't have one, so can someone please let me know what I'll need and where I can get one?

Nice one graham

If i can do it then so can anyone.....not sure about the washer....they are called crush washers....quite thick but lighweight & of course crush up on tightening to give a good seal...i should think a decent hardware shop, a locally tylpe one should have them or of course a stealer can charge a fortune.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

Yeah, I'm pretty good at conveniently "forgetting" to buy replacement crush washers. Be this for the sump plug, banjo bolts on brake lines, or just about any other bolt I undo... so far no issues... but most of them haven't been in an atrocious state. The worst I've noted came from my sisters brake calipers on her car but they appear to be holding still...

Edit: I am in no way suggesting you shouldn't replace them  :lol
