what did you do with your fazer today ?
Fitted my scottoiler yesterday, but not entirely happy with the setup... I don't like the idea of the table ties or ugly straps and mounts for the injector but it may be necessary to keep the bastard thing in place...

As the weather improved significantly I ended up heading in to Wales - up to Monmouth, across to Abergavenny (road that I used had an appauling surface - won't be using that route again), then ended up in Brecon, down to... I have no idea where... across to Cardiff and home. A good 160~ miles covered Smile

Hmmm, yes, looking forward to that "new chain kit" feeling myself. Was supposed to have been replaced yesterday, but the Renthal black rear sprocket didn't turn up, now turns out they don't do that one in black  :rolleyes
Just adjusted the old one - definitely on it's last legs. I had to use a compromise between being a little too tight on it's tight spot, and still a bit loose everywhere else to ensure I can ride it today - hope it's ok, sounds a bit slappy!

Accidentally ended up going out for a ride again today... seems a shame to waste the good weather on anything else ^^

Only did about 60-80 miles - up the A38 and back down the A46

But, for the first time since ownership, the thou forced me to the side of the road Sad The gear selector came away from the mechanism - the bolt holder it on to the engine decided to make a bid for freedom. Thankfully had a few basic tools under the seat so was able to re-attach it and get myself home

Pick of the bunch for me today was this nice ZRX - very clean, and with some nice touches:

Then up to Burford, Charlbury TT to A44, up to Moreton in Marsh, across to Cirencester, Lechlade and home. 145 miles in this beautiful summery weather, couldn't miss it! And, thank the Lord, the chain held out  Big Grin

I did pretty much the same this afternoon. Left work at 2.00 into gorgeous sunshine, so just had to go home via the scenic route. What's usually 20 mins between J5 and J2 of the M6 ended up as 2 1/2 hours from Castle Brom, up the A38 to Burton-on-Trent and down the A444 back to Coventry. Oddly enough it took me past my old test centre and along my Mod 2 route. Can you get nostalgic after only 9 months?  Big Grin

Pushed the bugger up two flights of stairs... Fat foccer it is. Lucky my bro was there to lend a hand.

More than made up for it when I took it out for the first run this month though, new chain and sprockets are running sweet.

Took my r1 forks and put new seals in, fitted .95 springs and fitted the whole lot to the fazer! Infinately better than std forks.  Decided to put more threads on the stem and cut the top off so we didnt need to use a spacer, meaning it is 12mm higher than a normal r1 fork install. Everything went smoothly....Smile

Beautiful morning and went to the West Cork Carr Rally near Clonakilty with my son on the Thou. Had some fun blowing a few Wannabe Rally Drivers into the weeds when they tried to out accelerate me when overtaking. Smile Watched 3 stages and wandered home the Coast Road via the old head of Kinsale at a reasonable speed :eek. Did not see a Fazer all day, but met an older than me guy  :lol on an old XJ900 (pre diversion) which had just turned 100000miles when we stopped for coffee.

Got pulled over for a friendly chat( left my indicator on for a bit ) , given a leaflet for bikesafe show & track experience at Castle combe on the 12th April , and asked if I was interested in doing a bike safe course .

Went to the garage to see about investigating a scraping or knocking noise from the front wheel, there is a little play in the wheel so bearing looks like could need done but also the noise is coming from where the famous speedo dog is located so maybe that is it.only happens when ignition is on as i am moving off i hear 1 to 3 like scrapes, like something under my mudguard.

Anyway they were too busy to whip the wheel off for me to look & i now cant get a 15mile lift back tomorrow so that i can drop it off to them.

So foc it i'll have a first attempt at taking my front wheel off in the garden & hopefully not have any dramas & have a look myself.

I also focced about with suspension settings...found my optimum for twisty roads.....3 from top on the rear spring & 5 rings showing on the front fork adjusters....or hard & soft which i find a strange combination........but it works. 8)

Also found out my Rosso 2 rear is now not MOT passable.....after an absolute max of 2500 miles...wont be buying them again thank you very much.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike
