changed over the rear sprocket, greased up the rear spindle and refitted the wheel back on, just got the chain to do now, then I can look at painting the engine

Hosed it down with cold water and cleaned paintwork and plastics. Discovered an indicator lens has (been :rolleyes ) broken off, ordered new one with seal.
Still difficult to stop myself from doing a thorough clean when it gets in this state, but trying to trust the ACF underneath all the crud. Next job: new chain kit, as there's first evidence of rear sprocket teeth just starting to hook.

Are they the same as the 1000 then? Probably are. Oh well, thanks anyway Mick.
The fella who came to fix my Dad's mobility scooter broke it off I believe, as it was there after my last outing, but the sod has put it somewhere and I can't find it. I could've temporarily taped it on if he'd come clean about it. :\

I think they are the same, yes.
I hate when people break shit and dont tell you, happens a lot with my tools in work. I once went to get one of my micrometers and somebody had snapped it in half and just put it back :wall
Attempted to fit purdy new nitron rear shock only to find the top spacers they provided are too big (40mm as opposed to 35mm!)
Then headed round my mates workshop to replace fork oil seals as one was leaking, figured I'd upgrade to Ktech springs to the front shocks along with replacing the bushes whilst everything was open, discovered the leg that was leaking oil had been butchered when removing the leg previously, 2 deep score marks where the upper bush seats (presuming made by a screwdriver) thus creating extra pressure on the oil seal. My mates not convinced it will hold so I have to replace the right leg, he also showed me the badly pitted stanchions, so it's going to cost me a fair whack to sort out. I have fingers crossed the seals will hold but it's doubtful, going to have to avoid all potholes and no wheelies for a while!
Some say...

Got the fz1 out and took my daughter out on it for the first time to devils bridge. 80 mile round trip over the twisties, and she loved it!
She now wants a Bluetooth intercom (anyone got some for sale?) and comfy seat as her rs was numb, and the cheapo intercom was crap.

I can't remember who, but someone was recommending quite a cheap blutooth one recently.

Received an exup cable repair kit from Venhill. Will be visiting relatives all day tomorrow so won't get a chance to fit it.
Maybe next week.

Watch out for unmarked police cars on the M4 , I got pulled for going in excess of 100 not long after I got the fazer trying to see what it would do , thought I was going to lose my license , still taught me a lesson and slowed me down .

I'm not going to make it worse by quoting it again
but an open public forum is not the place for such admissions These things are only gathered up and used to prove bikes need restricting. Do it by all means but dont shout
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

A run down to H's for tea and bacon butties again. Not much there (unsurprisingly). Got a snap for a picture challenge (your bike on a bridge) but got back too late to win.
![]() Must get this shot in summer in sunshine - The Thames at Abingdon. Close Encounters of the Feathered Kind Had a pheasant fly out into my knee on Wednesday's run to Wales. Today, came round a corner to find a Red Kite swooping down on a couple of Magpies that were casually strolling across the road and had to grab a handful; apart of course, from the usual pigeon-ducking. Oh the joys of the countryside! And just spent an hour riding around fruitlessly looking for a shop or business with a pun in it's name for the next challenge on that particular forum. the only one I knew of has recently changed it's name! Bugger :rolleyes
