We really ought to remind him that dressing gown and slippers is really not suitable riding attire too. Also, I think I'd only be doing my duty if I offered to relieve him of one or two of those bikes he's got there - it'll save him a world of confusion  Wink

There's more deserving than you out there, Nick!  Smile

First time out in 2 months, finally got a Fazer fix! The bike was eager, the roads were dry (well, for the most part), and thoroughly enjoyed the first run of 2014. Hello 2014!  Smile
Just a quick run down to H's, Dorchester, quite busy today.

washed it! was looking sorry for itself after commuting on it 2 days last week and not washing it afterwards. Ive now dragged it round into the garage (ahem.. glorified shed) in preparation for sorting the engine out and changing the chain and sprockets out next week.

I also want to take off the centre stand, and shotblast/repaint it as there is some surface rust starting on it Sad

90 miles around North Wales this afternoon, got my bike covered in muck (which covers the scratches from dropping it the other day).

Lead a Ride-out from Wickham Square to the Departure Lounge Cafe on the A339, then up almost to Basingstoke before turning off on the B3046, back down to the A272 and finishing at Loomies.

Fun apart from a sphincter-clenching moment on Spiers Lane when I thought I'd avoided a patch of gravel, but the rear wheel just twitched sideways for a moment!

Oh and the A272 was water-logged in places too Sad

Started the daunting task of removing the downpipes.

Managed to get 2 out of the 8 nuts off without shearing the studs.  :\

One of them snapped off flush with the block though. Guess i'll not be riding anymore before the weekend.

Not happy.

Oh b0ll0cks mate.  I have the same fear. I've got in a new set of studs n nuts to swap out but very reluctant to even look at the originals with fear of em shearing.  Let us know how you work a solution which I know you will.  Best of luck! a good nights sleep is a good thing when stumped with a problem like that,  there is always a way. Hopefully not engine out though.  But if it does mean that, oh well when it's fixed n engine back in,  happy days.
This week I've been mostly tinkering in the garage

Went and picked up a Givi E45 Top Box that I won on eBay for £43! Its only 2 years old and is in immaculate condition - glad to have finally picked up a bargain... not so glad about the rain I travelled in when picking it up :\

Drained the coolant and took the radiator off the Gen 1 as I plan on giving it a repaint. With that out of the way I gave the engine and manifold a good clean and polish and coated with ACF50. I've ordered a new set of spark plugs as they look easier to get at with the radiator removed. I then got carried away and took the tank off in prep for fitting a new air filter and whilst under there I cleaned all the wires/pipes and electrical connectors  8)
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???
