Rain rain and even more rain
#1
I cannot remember a time in my life where it has rained so heavily for so long as we have had in recent weeks.

Near where I live, many roads are flooded and unpassable in a normal car. I have lived in this area now for over 25 years and cannot remember some of the locations that are flooded today having ever flooded before.

It's certainly been wet for the past 2 or 3 months. Get the occasional bit of sun, but its never enough to dry out the roads that much and then you just get blinded by it and all the specs of spray caused by other vehicles... certainly looking forward to Spring / Summer

I was just saying to the wife yesterday how dry it has been this winter (in the NE). Yeah, the roads are constantly damp - but I recall one time only where I've had to pull the waterproofs out from under the seat in the last 2 months.

Don't despair I see on the news the other day we're still to expect the hosepipe ban. Oh deep joy, where would we be without traditionSmile

Being that I'm SW, I couldn't get much further away Tongue Mind you, Bristol is ranked 8th in the top wettest cities in the UK... it has a reputation to keep apparently  :rolleyes

Haven't ridden the bike since 8th December. The roads were wet then, and I don't think they've been dry around here once since then. Me and the bike had a little chat recently, and we've agreed that we probably won't be out again til March at the earliest  :eek

Unless. Unless, unless, unless.... Confusedun ???

It's going to be a new attraction. Kind of like this from Simpsons:
