I want some just for winter to keep the wind chill off my pinkies.

I got these ones:

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vie...1052296964

But the LEDs were terrible (worse than the headlights!) And they interfere with the fairing on full lock.

But after MUCH chopping, they look like this.

[smg id=1431]

Definitely make a difference. Only my index fingers got cold on today's commute. (R&G heated grips too)

I have plans to improve them with some stiff rubber ( so it'll flex out of the way of the fairing when forced).

Don't forget I have renthal road high (756) bars and fz1 mirrors, so might fit different with standard setup!!

Thanks for the info.

Spent two hours after work last night, with a test meter, trying to figure out why my headlights and sidelights went out. After 120 mins of swearing and thinking I'd stuffed something up during my headlight upgrade, I found that it was just a rusty connection under the fuel tank!  :rolleyes

Any body else under the impression that there are just too many wires and connectors in there for he amount of systems these bikes have?!

Test rode Rhondda Red after finishing ALL the service items in schedule(except valve clearance check-not due for another 11K miles).First port of call filling station-17 Litres of Shell unleaded less fuel voucher(Pluspoints) cost me £18-43. Rode to local dealer 6 miles further up the road. A guy called Alistair pulled up on an "R" reg black Boxeye-referred him to our forum & had a good natter. Rode home another 9 miles & added fuel stabiliser to tank. Bike now in shed& sulking-its been in the warm while I was doing the work.
Must remember to top up friends fuel tank-her YBR 125 holds 13L at a guess then put stabiliser in.
Grandad is a happy man today! :lol

I have never used fuel stabalizer and never had any issues.

I take it you run the bike for a while after adding it?  Otherwise it is just going to sit in the tank and your carbs will still be affected?

The brand I used(Motorex) was very low viscosity. Just added the recommended amount  & shook the bike around to help disperse/mix it. Will only use bike now on dry unsalted roads til March. Used to ride all year round when I had no other transport but that was over 45 years ago and I don't do cold & wet these days :lol

Not today, but yesterday went to http://www.shinybikesyndrome.co.uk/ to get my bike cleaned and ACF 50 treated by Nooj. Beautiful job and well worth the £50 it cost :thumbup

Hey Graham, any photo's of your bike? I have a rough idea what it's like before the clean. I'm thinking of getting mine done too?

Desperately need to wash my bike after a fortnight of winter commuting!

Waiting for a break in the rain to do that today but in the meantime I thought I would "restore" my rather sun-bleached aitbox covers.

Seems the bike was either stored/parked out in the sun one way or has had a new right hand side cover as one was fine the other was grey!

After reading about the marvels of peanut butter.......  I gave it a whirl!  I washed both sides in my usual wash mcguires gold class.

Then rubbed the faded one with peanut butter.  I was sceptical at first but its as good as any back-to-black I have tried before!

This is after a wash down with washing up liquid to get rid of the peanut butter etc.  Its left odorless and greaseless with a nice OEM style matt black finish.  This was only a quick attempt with little effort made to do the whole piece properly as the missis is in the house and I didn't really fancy explaining why I am toothbrushing my bike panels with peanut butter on my day off...

But yeah looks like I might do them properly with it!

I used some peanut butter on a faded top box recently and it turned out great initially, but after a week or two the faded look came back.

Ordered a nice Scorpion stainless oval can @ NEC Bike Show yesterday £50 off normal price & free carriage(usually £13). How could I not buy one? Glad I haven't got a SWMBO checking my bank statements! :lol

Borrowed my father in-laws carb balancing device and waved it over my fazer.  No change so will plug it in properly tomorrow and balance the carbs.  Could do with some new carb to head inlet rubbers but at 70 quid a set maybe not.  Let's see if these ones are leaking first I spose. See how it goes.  I know carbs are out of balance and looking forward to rhe test ride already, after its done.
This week I've been mostly tinkering in the garage

I washed Florence today and give her Bert a rinse too, her indoors wasn't too happy that I'd muckyed the wee thing whilst using it for commuting.

Gave both the WD40 all over and ACF50 where needed treatment.
