what did you do with your fazer today ?
Paid a mechanic to replace the piston seals all round yesterday, seals off ebay €40 and 6 hours worth of labour (some were tough b*stards) all in €160 for a brake overhaul. He mentioned I needed new pads all round so went out today and bought some EBC HH pads for the front and fitted them. Yet to break them in, work tonight will give me an idea what they are like.

Changed the (as it turned out) glazed pads for new ones Smile

But they were worn to limits too, right? Not trying to teach granny what to do with her eggs, but you wouldn't replace them just cos they're glazed?

Nope, still a bit of life on them, I've kept the pads so I can dicky them up if I need them, but for the peace of mind I put the new ones in since I had them. I think it was the original pads as well (sumitomo ones?), so I don't mind putting new ones in. The ferodo platinum ones feel much better anyway, so glad I've done it.

Just need to do the brake lines now :lol

Just fitted a waterproof charging socket and phone carrier to the fz1, then spent the next hour sewing conductive thread into the index finger of my left glove so I can use my phone with gloves on. It works too! Big Grin
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

It's not box, it's solid steel. Seemed OK yesterday, will use it on the bike, checking at regular intervals to see if it needs any further bracing

Is it still connected to the bike - yes - no further bracing required

Is it still connected to the bike - uhh... no... - much more bracing required... once I find it...

Had a great day, took the trailer for high speed road trials, and discovered it doesn't like going above 60mph. Might be better loaded. Had a relaxed bimble down the M3 to Fareham to claim a cuppa and a chat from Fireblake. Good ride, good tea, good company! Smile

Now get those wheels sorted, Mickey! :lol

You know one of the questions the insurance ask you. "do you have any modifications" what on earth are you going to say. And you do know that your insurance in any mis hap will be null and void
