Same for me Mickey.
Gixxer a awesome bike, but not really happy unless above 60 mph, too much weight on the wrists. I think I would got a ban eventually, and I'm a sensible rider. Track day tool really.
The fazer on the other hand is just so good all round. When i jumped off the gixxer onto the fazer, i managed a relaxed manic free ride. Well was a bit naughty :lol
Before my FZS I had a 929 Blade and I spent an afternoon riding around the north circular in th peeing rain and solid traffic. So heavy I couldn't filter. After a few hours I stopped to rest at a bike shop and put an offer on the bike I have now. I've never looked back. My old Blade felt tge most comfortable at a ton+. Sooner or later I was going to get a ban, if I was lucky :'(

About the only thing I miss about the gixxer is that induction howl, from the airbox under the tank :'( The handling was amazing too, almost telepathic. On the fazer you have to plan your cornering more, but that to me is a good thing as it stops you hairing into bends. Digital Speedo good as well as the fazer clocks harder to watch.
Always fancied a speed trip myself Jon but lack of a fairing on the new ones puts me off.
The fazer front cowl does help a bit, just a bit of a pain on windy days, but I couldn't put up with a naked and fly screen.
