Went for first ride out with bro-in-law after my sheep collision. Confidence had almost completely gone within the first 2 miles! I was considering selling the big Fazer, it was that bad!!!
It took a couple of hours of bumbling round the trough of bowland before i finally got my mojo back. In almost 100 miles, only the last 20 were enjoyable.
The ride back home across pilling and Hambleton saw my pegs touch down once again.
That'll save me making a for sale sign then Big Grin
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

Rode it to Wigan Yamaha where they had both a Fazer 8 and an FZ1S to try.

If Yam had combined the thou lump with the Fazer 8 aerodynamics I'd have happily handed over both bikes and the requisite cash, however there's still that niggle...........

Fazer 8 looks more up to date, and the new version they've improved the suspension, the new fairing is incredibly stable at harumph speeds, and the increase in power over the FZ6, although not huge is noticeable and appreciated due to the way in which it's delivered.

HOWEVER

FZ1S it's 150BHP fer christ sake, and the one I'm looking at has an Akroprovik carbon pipe, so sounds the dogs, but at high speeds the fairing's on a par with my 6 hence buffet at significantly below the 8s harumph . But that acceleration, what a 'kin blast :eek

Kinda guess where I'm going to be spending me cash ..................On tyres, fuel and speeding tickets :lol

Checked, lubed and adjusted all of the control cables. Striped off the rear panels and sorted the broken fixings (good ol araldite  Wink ). Fitted bar risers. Adjusted the levers and switch gear (after removing the location pins). Fitted my new on board camera. Sat on it
Not quite sure what to do with my early mid-life crisis. Ideas on a post card to P.O.BOX 150...
