18o miles in North Wales. Left Wrexham, over to Bala to meet my mate Trev. On the way to Cerrigydrudion looked in the mirrors, no Trev. Turned around, found him at the roadside with his helmet off. Bee got in his helmet, stung him several times in the neck. Carried on to Llyn Brenig,Bwlchau,Groes,Henllan. My turn to stop abruptly, stabbing pains in back of calf. Took boot off, bee in there, stung me three times, bloody painful. Onward to St Asaph, Llanrwst,Conwy, Sychnant Pass, Penmaenmawr promenade for a coffee, Llanfairfechan promenade for some food at the cafe. Several bikers there. Stayed for a couple of hours then return by a similar route.

Took the carbs out and gave them a good clean, have the jets left soaking overnight and will refit and re-assemble tomorrow. Fork legs removed, sanded down, 2 coats of primer, 2 coats silver and a top coat of clear - Time now for a cold beer and some TV!

Yeah, it was ambitious to expect it to pass... They didn't say anything about the head bearings though. Had a good look around and were testing it as they thought something might be wrong, but there is no play. Bought the new bearings regardless so need to get round to fitting them. Chain, sprockets and discs are on there way and my credit card is feeling rather full...

Mine just got back on the road.  Thanks to Russell Motors of Battersea.  First service I've outsourced since 2001 I think.  Anyway full service, fork oil change, brake fluid change, new brake pads on the front and fixing the puncture in the front wheel.  One of the brake caliper bolts was rounding on me so left for their (better fitting) sockets. Anyone else used rep and air puncture repair kits? Had three goes over the years and the first two failed (the bung broke before getting into the tyre) and the third attempt got the bung in a bit but not as far as I'd have expected. It did hold air to get the bike to the garage though.

It passed its first MOT today. Just an advisory that the front tyre was getting near the limit. I got 11,000 and 12,000 out of the first 2 tyres, this one has done 8,000, but still has some life left in it. I did wonder if putting stiffer fork springs in last year would affect tyre life. Maybe I'm just braking harder as it doesn't dive quite so much now.
