Yesterday I picked it up from the dealer after having a new clutch fitted under warranty.
Today I reflected on the fact that I learned to ride a motorbike to save 20 minutes on my commute, yet ended up taking a 75 mile two hour 'scenic route' detour today. :lol

Recently found a lovely bit of quiet, twisty country lane near to me, just right for a short evening ride after work. I've been along it about three times now, and was just getting the hang of it. Then last night, I went to try it again. Well, got about halfway, and suddenly I was on "cheapskate council excuse for a resurfacing job", i.e., gravelled over. B*****ds! So now I've got to wait for that to bed in before I can safely use it again. So tonight's ride...O.K., I'll try another little route I've only ridden once, seem to remember it was an enjoyable ride. And what do I find? "Road closed for repairs - follow diversion". B*****ks. So I follow the diversion, thinking I know where I can cut back to the route. Get to that turning, guess what? F****ng road closed for repairs!!! I'm not paranoid - they are all out to get me :'(
Paul (the mechanic) is a friend of mine - for fitting the plugs and balancing the carbs, he charged me £50. Minus £10, as I'm a starving student and he's a nice chap, and minus another £5 for finding some info on his bike on the interwebs.
cheers christo :thumbup , so ill use 50 bucks as my ball park figure which i wouldnt mind paying once a year to keep it sweet, if it gets close to the 100 bucks mark ill be tempted to buy some guages and do it myself. Took the dust cover off me Julie, gazed in awsome wonder, covered me Julie up again and went down the pub for beer and lunch.
Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad

Balanced my carbs, not perfect but much closer than they were. Hopefully that'll get rid of the hesitation when I open it up but I'm not counting on it.
Was supposed to be going out for a ride with a friend on her VTR1000 but not heard anything about that and I don't think I can be arsed to go out on my own :\

165 miles in North Wales. Wrexham-Denbigh-Abergele-Colwyn Bay-Penmaenmawr-llanfairfechan-Bangor-Llanberis-Pen y Pass-Beddgelert-Aberglaslyn Pass-Penrhyndeudraeth-Trawsfynydd-Llyn Celyn-Bala-Corwen-Bryneglwys-Wrexham. Police motorcyclist with speed gun in Nant Peris at start of the Llanberis Pass, in the 30mph zone. He'd just stopped a car coming towards me.In Beddgelert road thick with loose chippings, had to be very careful turning left over the narrow bridge. Saw lots of bikers especially between Trawsfynydd and Bala. No speed trap waiting in the usual spot which was surprising. All in all a very enjoyable day. Forgot to mention the scones and coffee stop on Bangor Pier, one of my favourite places.
