Having some issues removing the radiator so I can put my new downpipes on. I can see one of the nuts for the exhaust is focced so need some room for my nut removal tool (dremel if needed) there's two nuts that sit below the radiator, one came off no problem. The other won't budge, any movement just pulls the weld between the bracket on the radiator and the frame. Its come away abit now and its been given liberal amounts of wd. I don't have any welding tools so need some suggestions. Tempted to rip the bugger off.
Managed to get the radiator off. Having problems getting the bracket that hold one of the metal pipes in place, I can't get to one of the exhaust nuts. the bracket in questions just above and to the right of the oil filter. Its a 10mm nut but I can't get my socket/socket adapter to grip it properly due to the clearance. Any ideas? Might invest in a 10mm t bar.
Is it possible to replace downpipes without removing the radiator?
Update
Managed to get the radiator offer and some of the brackets to access the downpipes. The downpipes were a pain to take off. 3 nuts were rusted to buggery, with some help from my dad we managed to get them out with some heat and a set of imperial sockets. Used the one (forget what size) between 9mm and 10mm, whacked it out and slowly got them turning.
Just about to fit my motad downpipes, picked up some nuts from toolstation today - M6 Connector Nuts - 18mm Long - 10 for £0.98 ... for when I fit them sometime this week. New pads, brake lines to fit, mot then I might actually get to enjoy some sunny b road blasts
