I usually end up sat on the floor and put my foot under the downpipes to use it to keep them elevated whilst I negotiate getting the 4 headers into the head and at least one of the flanges screwed in slightly.
can be a pain :\ DEADEYES method works for me too.......how much welding did you have done,if its lots the heat could of twisted the pipes
One, is never going to be enough.....
They should fit straight on no problem if they dont then they either been twisted/bent by an impact or when they were welded by too much heat!

I had to put the whole system back on my Fireblade last week. I ended up using a car jack to support the bottom of the downpipes while I got it all in place. Fiddle, but it worked.
I put a replacement set of downpipes on the Fazer last year and they went on fine. It could be they have been distorted by the heat from the welding or they might just need some 'encouraging'.
Which part of the process are you finding a pain?
