10 years ago I did live up there for a year or so (though I'm from the South) and it was ridiculous....cops hiding in trees etc.
Lovely countryside but the pressure that goes with it trying to keep a clean license is hard.
From that article: "North Wales Police has a robust strategy around enforcing the ‘Fatal 5’ offences which are speeding, drink and drug driving, dangerous driving including unnecessary risk taking, failing to wear a seat belt and using a mobile phone whilst driving."
And does "dangerous driving including unnecessary risk taking" include "Driving too foccing fast for the conditions" because that is *much* more dangerous than just going over (a possibly arbitrary) limit number!
Too many accidents happen because people just won't *slow down* when it's pi$$ing with rain or foggy or other such poor conditions, but "well I'm not going over the speed limit"...
I believe N.Wales Police are also having a crackdown on tyres. Saw two BMW Patrol Cars pulling loads of vehicles up near Wrexham on Friday
Having just come back from 9 months in North Wales I would say that coming round a blind bend on a road that's 1 1/2 cars wide on the wrong side of the road when you're a lorry is right up there on my list of things I didn't like.
Seriously, there wasn't a single time we went out in the car when we didn't nearly get taken out by some dozy twat doing this.
They're having a blitz on speeding in north Yorkshire. The York Press online comments page someone had put that Bikers are testosterone fuelled mid life crisis muppets that deserve to die as they drive like idiots.
I pointed out to him testosterone and mid life crisis don't belong in the same sentence. Other people had been much harsher on his comment.
I just put DON'T FEED THE TROLL.
dont you just love a crackdown ! :'(
And DERBYSHIRE police have a brand new fully stickered up Fireblade, it was in full force over the weekend pulling peeps .
