My 05 Thou' Ivanised with 3 degree ignition advancer, rentals, carbon can etc, only 7k on the clock when I bought her about 18 months ago and still has only done 11500 miles. Bought my first Fazer 1000 back in 2004 and apart from other bikes that I've owned I tried a Gen2 fz1s for a while, but as you can see I'm back on the best machine another Gen1, can't beat them. :lol
When the going get's tough the tough get going.
My 08, with new side fairing panels + bellypan, Akra, tail tidy and paint.
Now with 24000 miles, have just bought a Nitron shock for this years trips.
The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible

It's the same company but I got my RT from the branch in Maidenhead - in January, just before the snow arrived! In addition to the Fazer, I had a '98 VFR800 that I used for touring - a fantastic machine. However, my girlfriend did a lot of pillion riding with me last year and will be joining me on my jaunt to Spain this summer so it was time to get a tourer. I tried the both the Pan and RT and the RT was better in almost every way so that's what now sits next to the Fazer in my garage.
I have sat on an RT at the london show and everything just felt right, in the right place, no need to lean forward or backward etc. Does it vibrate much, I tried a 1200GS and the vibes were quite intrusive, are they dampened on the RT and is it fun in the twisties or 'just' a tourer?
Sorry for hijacking the thread and nopt even posting a pic of my fazer :o

There are vibes but by no means intrusive - just enough to give it some character. TBH it was not the bike I expected to buy but the test rides on the Pan and the RT surprised me; particularly as I had owned an 1150GS some years ago and quite disliked it. (Good job I decided to 'try before you buy') The 1150 was decidedly agricultural and had a very restricted useful rpm range being flat at anything below 2,000rpm and rough by 4,000. The 1200 is a different proposition altogether and it is a superb bike to ride.
Luke,
Your bike is looking really smart. The black forks blend nicely, the single swing arm conversion is sublime and the wheels are very nice. All in it's a cracking job.
I was never really a fan of the "deep seats" but it looks good on the bike in those photos.
DJ Chunky WTF :lol
Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad
