rear brake rebuild
#1
Hi

just to clarify.......the two rear brake pistons should move the same amount as each other??? so every 1mm the one moves...the other moves 1mm at the same time? because mine dont  :rolleyes  (the one moves just about half the distance as the other one)

Caliper
i rebuilt them 4 years ago (14k) but re used the seals. Im thinking of doing it again but with new seals. So theres 2 seals per piston isnt there? i ve just read the other thread on here about seals and the price of OEM ones!!!  :eek  some one said the Nikon ones are good, any one used them on a rear brake?

Master cylinder
im thinking of overalling this as well. Never touched any master cyclinders before, so what will i need to replace? i guess these seals / boots will be stupid money for OEM ones so what are the alternatvies?

just been to my local yam dealer.

the rear brake seals cost £11...and thats for all 4! :eek i was expecting triple that easily.

The master cylinder kit is £47 but he can do me a deal on one for £25. im just not sure wether or not to change it???? the bike is an 04 plate with 31k on the clock (& im not hard on the brakes but do like a decent rear brake)

Also while i was there i learnt something else new, and thats how dam ugly the new R1 is!!
