Total recall 2012 version
#1
As a result of my kids I ended up watching this over about 6 days which is never good. However. Just to report that I found it a very enjoyable flick. Somewhat lacking in cohesion which is no surprise given the story line is as convoluted as the original.

The main highlight though was Kate Beckinsale. That girl is a gift. She lights up the film in her usual way playing a beautiful and deadly role. Damn she so fine.

Anyways, a definite 7/10 which is as good as it gets in my book without having an understandable plot. The only exception to this being the truly awesome Monty Python and the holy grail which requires no plot to justify it's 8/10 rating.

Rotten tomatoes eat your heart out, this is all the review you need.

Watched this the other month, I thought it was fairly good. A very modern twist on what is essentially the same story line as the original.

Must admit it was odd to see Bryan Cranston, especially with hair after watching a lot of Breaking Bad haha

Bryan Cranston is a wicked actor. Much more versatile than his USA sitcom beginnings.

I was surprised at the small part that Bill Nighy had.

So glad I watched it, unlike that tripe they called Nightfall and Dread. Abysmal.

Yummy mummy indeed. thats why I enjoy watching Underworld soo many times with her in the tight leather outfit.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - strawberries in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming - WOO HOO! What a Ride!"

Your patters howlin son
Malcolm in the middle is a great show and helps to show his range and diversity in his craft because the madcap comic twists are filled with moment of real poignacy and emotion and he does it brilliantly. Total recall however is formulaic gash that relies on camp visuals amd choreagraphed and cgi action, and thats aside from the mingin script and sheer audacity to attempt to take itself seriously. He wasnt even provided with a decent wig.
But kate looks good so the films cushty apparently cos thats all we notice innit

Is that the best you can do?

The highlight of the film is a bit of skirt but I'm the idiot. Well done there.

Life of brian gets 8/10, buts its me on the stool in the corner wearing the conical hat. Hmm.

Do please post some more reviews so that we get to delight in your reflective and analytical critique of modern cinema and any other work of fine artistry and creativity. We can but hope that theres a tasty bit of flange free running and flashin some sideboob so the thing doesn't bomb.

I think there is a relevant saying for your perspective.  "if you don't have something good to say, say nothing at all".  You don't have to be contentious and derisive of peoples opinions so strongly, it makes you seem grouchy and trollish.  Your point could have been made without being hypercritical of an alternative perspective.

A film does not have to be Schindlers list to be a good watch.  Sometimes light hearted is what people are after.
