Should I keep my Fazer completely standard or are there any major benefits to be had for small injections of cash ?
I was thinking of :
- a hugger but as far ass I can tell it won't serve much of a practical purpose (as well as not being able to find one cheaply for a W reg FZS600).
- A Belly pan seemed like an okay idea but will it really achieve much ?
- lower fairing, again, no real point I can see
- higher windscreen (this would seem to be good for motorway riding)
cheers
Simon
Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one. Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.
The huggers arent too cheap, my thoughts as well, although do keep underside of the back wheel area clean
Im not too bothered with the lower fairing or belly pan, The belly pan would protect the exhausts from rusting away quicker, and a lower fairing would be better on the motorway I assume?
Higher windscreen would be good for motorway riding, but some have reported it pushes the wind into their helmet and makes the issue with buffeting worse
If you have a look at my site under the fazer section:

This lists all the mods I have done for my Fazer (so far )
Loving the indicators. What is the legality of this ? grey or clear ?
Seems like a cool weekend project.

The legality of the indicators specifically? They are completely legal and should pass an MOT without any problems. Its an easy project to do, only took about 20 minutes per board for soldering. I would defo buy some bullet connectors to make it cleaner
Double bubble windscreen made a decent difference on mine and looks a lot nicer than the standard one (mines black). Rear hugger has really helped keep my rear shock and spring etc cleaner so i would say it's worth it but they are expensive. If it is looks you want for cheap then get yourself a set of clear indicator lenses instead of the standard orange things, really updates the whole look of the bike for a couple of quid.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.
Got a double bubble screen on mine which makes a great difference to buffeting at high speed, does raise the airflow up but better than the standard screen. For me the best mod was fiting Oxford Hotgrips, been used daily during the cold months.
I think huggers keep a lot of shite off your bike as do fender extenders which are cheap enough.
Probably the best mod/ upgrade is to change the front sprocket nut - cheap peace of mind.
My bike runs a lot better with a K+N filter - I guess that's a Mod, the belly pan don't do much but I like the way it looks.
"Don't Die with Fun in the Bank!"
just fitted a powerbronze hugger to my gen2 today looks great and should keep some crap off my rear end
My mods would be in this order
Crash bobbins
Fender extender
Hugger
LED side lights
New can
LED indicators
Double bubble screen
To start with!! 8)
We have gone to DEFCON 5!
look on ebay for reccambi-weiss-com they do belly pans for £36 :lol
i have a foxeye, and have been advised to keep it standard, as in a few years the good and the bad, will both go there separate ways,, so future classic ? i don,t know have fun and thrash it. :lol
sent from my carafan in tenby,
I got a hugger on mine to keep the crap off the shock,a fender extender is worth having too along with crash bungs which i need to get

When you get your bungs, stay away from the ones that utilise just the upper front engine mount, theres far too much leverage and the m10 bolt just bends making the bung useless..
You want the type that come with the bracket, like oe yam or R&G..
The mods (I know of!) on my bike are:
- Fenda extender
- Bellypan
- Rear hugger
- mini indicators (front)
- Stainless downpipes
The Fenda extenda keeps the pipes much cleaner, and the rear hugger protects the chain, shock and underside of the seat. I'm not sure how effective the bellypan is at keeping the pipes cleaner, but it makes the bike look much bigger at the bottom, makes it appear bigger. I also like the mini indicators, as I find the full ones too big on the front.
For functionality, hugger and fenda extenda are better. For the look, the bellypan is a must. But get one with sharpish angles, if not it looks a bit daft.

Let me think now :think :
LED strip of indicators added to the front fairing
LED tail light/indicators (original indicators left on)
Rear hugger
Heated grips
Air horn (loud)
Crash bungs (front wheel & front frame)
Beeping indicators (for blind ignorant pedestrians)
Stainless downpipes
SP Engineering Moto GP end can (noisy bugger)
Rear seat rubber netting to stop passengers sliding about
15w oil in forks instead of 10w for a bit more stability up front
K&N oil & air filter
Heavy duty X ring chain
Headlight mod so both lights are on, with brighter bulbs
Radiator stainless grill/protector
Braided metal brake lines (Venhill i think?)
Think that's it.......
