Fazer1000 Servo Motor Eliminator
#1
Had to bin the Exup valve on my FZS1000 2003. Got my german fazer rider friend (electronics expert too) to make a servo eliminator. Works perfect. For FZS1000 '01-'05. Have binned the exup, cables and servo motor and have no tacho fault warning. Want to do the same? I have 2 servo eliminators to sell on ebay. You have to seal the unit yourself, explanation on e-bay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...1071501078 £30+£2.95P&P Now you can fit a full aftermarket exhaust system without the tacho playing pin-ball.

Unless it is a very good full system , some thing like the full apovik then you lose bottom end. The sandy spears for example will lose you a bunch though not as much as will just removing the valve and blanking it off.

Those that have gone this way I belive just leave the cables connected to stop the code. If I remember other threads on it.
Most would agree the valve is needed and most would also agree that it is a pain in the ass and pocket when it plays up.
But it is simple to service and keep working if looked affter.

The difference in grunt is really low down, ie. below 3000rpm, from 3000-4000rpm a small difference, over 4000rpm no difference, with standard exhaust. Akropovic, Yoshi, Scorpion etc make full systems without exhaust valves and they are developed to run without the valve, the low grunt loss is a couple of % only and up top a 5-8% win. If you are not getting a fault warning then there's no need to by the eliminator.
