Charging New Battery
#1
How long does it normally take to charge a new battery? I got a Bosch battery, filled it with the acid pack, left it to settle for a couple of hours and put it on an Accumate. The Accumate is saying fully charged after only 2 or 3 hours.
I thought it would take a lot longer? Thanks.

the battery would be already dry charged and could have been used as soon as it was filled, but it is always better to give it a charge after filling. 2-3 hours sounds about right

thats right ... i had to buy a new battery a couple days ago and was told bring it back to the garage / show room asap after i collected bike from where i jad to leave it n get it charged ....

I did this and the guy in the garage said  " it would have been fine  " arrrrrrrr i didnt need to  take it back out atall  :rollin

I got him to charge it anyway n he did so over night so a few hours seems right .

Thanks lads. I had my battery-eating Datatool 3 removed today so I'll put new battery in. Hopefully now the new one will last a while. Cheers.

Sorry for stating the bleeding obvious but were there any instructions with the battery pertaining to charging?

That's a reasonable point. Not that I saw. I knew some friendly Foccer would know and give me some advice. The answer is only obvious when you know it.
