Gen 1 frame paint
#1
I can;t seem to find any touch up paint for the frame. Could also do with an aerosol so i can paint an exhaust hanger.

Any ideas on the closest match from the car world or similar?

This is possibly old information now but try either Color Rite Yamaha MH5860 OMA Titanic Silver or Piaggio Grigglio DTBC160.

Hopefully someone who has touched up their frame paint more recently will be able to give current experience on what to use and where to get it.

if you can take a small part to your local auto paint shop they should be able to make you a tin to match the colour but for mettalics you also need the correct primer and clear coat

at £15 it's fiendishly expensive but it's an inprobably good colour match:

it's a strange old paint, the aerosol seems to be too pressurised, blasting the paint out at a very un-user friendly speed. the nozzle is the straight line 'paint gun' type that doesn't help for frame painting and lastly the paint requires heat encouragement to dry otherwise it just seems to stay wet for days!

having said that it's the best i've found. the frame colour is a very difficult colour for paint factors to match...

hth
is it clean enough?

Cheers all, I could really do with a small touch up pen really, I should have said, I may contact RS anyway. There are a few sellers on ebay that did the correct one for my 2002 R1 with the satin metallic black frame, £7 for a touch up.
I just need to cover a few little nicks arouind the front of the headstock and tank area, probably from shoddy mechanics.

Ah, brill, RS Bike Paints do a touch up for £8 + P&P, so just over a tenner.
