If you have this RST jacket. Give it a once over to check

If you have the below RST jacket then I would check the stitching. I bought this jacket with matching bottoms a month ago and I noticed on Monday that the there was a large hole under the reflective piping where the right arm is stitched to the body of the jacket.


I had to get the bus to work yesterday and my wife took the jacket back to the shop. The shop were really good and exchanged it for another. I got home last night gave the jacket a look over before trying it on and it had a hole in the same place!! The hole was much smaller and you had to move the piping to one side to see it but it must be a fault in the jackets.


I am on the bus again today and my wife has just been to the shop who changed it again for another style RST jacket, they are going to check the rest of their stock and contact the distributors Moto Direct.

Cheers for the heads up.  Wear Buffalo leathers myself - but the wife-to-be is decked out in RST gear.  I will be checking every milimetre of it this weekend to make sure she is properly protected.

I bought some rst gloves and the stitching came out on the wrist strap before i'd even worn them on the bike,straight back for a refund i went,


My rst boots have been fine, only damaged because i stuck my foot down whilst being a bit silly so thats my own fault,the glue has come away where the toe meets the sole,


I like the looks of rst stuff but reckon they need to take a gander at their sewing machines before its too late.

I've been disappointed with RST quality recently. I had a razor jacket which is similar to the one you pictured and the stitching on the inner pocket came apart, also I had some glove and the stitching on the Velcro all came apart after using them twice

Better half has RST as her touring/long distance gear  so not been used that much ( 2 euro tours a year )  even though its 3 yrs old , trousers split at stitched seam on thigh( not the actual stitching but fabric itself)  and jacket sleeve burst.

Went to J&S to check out replacements and same RST trousers still on hanger were split in the same place !!! So sod getting replacements

Avoid like the plague I say

Shes gone over to Furygan now, much better quality

thats worrying..........

ive been looking at replacing my old stuff with the RST stuff. was told by the sales person that it was the mutts nuts & was told that there has been no probs or returns when i asked.

dont think i'll be getting them now.

I contact Moto-Direct to let them know what had happened and that I had to spend an extra 2 hours a day for a couple of days commuting to work on the bus because of the quality of their jackets and that my wife had to take time and petrol to drive to the dealers twice.


The reply I received said basically "We will get in touch with the dealer."  No apology !!!

I've got the air-vent jacket with matching jeans - had them since July last year, only problem I've had is one of the zip snapped, but I can still use it, otherwise it's a good jacket.
