Tesco pet insurance
#1
A few weeks back my dog was savaged by another dog, this happened the morning my wife and i were going away for the weekend camping. The vets bill was £350 and we also put in a claim for the holiday, the 2 nights camping was £80. The small print said that the holiday claim could only be made if the injury was life threatening with the vets report. The vet said a hole in the neck was usually life threatening so we put the claim in. Tesco came back with the reply that camping in England could not be considered a holiday so that claim would not be honoured but the vets bill minus the excess.
I can feel an argument with a jobsworth coming on????

No use to you now perhaps but if u decide to change insurer my missus is a vet nurse and theres 2 companys she reckons are best based on the claims that she sees as she gets involved with the paperwork,

As per usual i cant remember for the life of me which one our dogs are insured with, it aint tesco though, possibly pet plan,

I shall question her when she finishes and let you know.

You need a mortgage to get pet plan, £30 a month, we took out tesco , 1st year half price, £7 per month,, i ran my dog over,,vets bills came to £2,500 , Tesco paid out in 5 days,, cant moan.
I know its only the internet but they are real people ! ain't they?

:agree absolutely. They are taking the piss, and doing a very bad job of it. If they don't back down immediately, I think the likes of Watchdog might be quite interested in this sort of thing as well!

More than and pet plan are the best,

She said it,not me!,ours with more than, both terriers, bout 14 quid a month but they are only 3 years old, some breeds obviously more expensive than others,

Asked what she thought about tesco, not bad, better than some she says.

Pet insurance is a waste of money. Put the tenner a month into an account and leave it there. It's pretty unlucky to get a massive bills of thousands (I know it does happen though) Weigh up how much you've paid in insurance, then see how much you've actually used.

I have two cats. I have an isa that I put money in every month, and when they go (Which will be never, as they are clearly immortal lol) it will pay for cremations and vets bills etc.
