R6 shock Mod fazer 1000

ok not understanding this how does the shock get near the footpegs?

When the shock is removed there is nothing to hold the rear of the bike up. The rear end will compress and come to a rest on the rear foot peg mounts scratching the rear end plastic.  :\

ok call me thick but if anything the arm falls away from the rear pegs not towards it are you on a paddock stand as that would make sense but not with the stock center stand

Strangely enough, I've just done mine, whilst it was on the CENTRE STAND! and I had no probs. However, with all due respect, if your daft enough to try changing it while the bike is on a paddock stand, then yes the arse end of the bike will colapse in a heap, quite possibly with you under neath it! :eek

If you hit the pegs when you're doing this then you're doing it wrong, big time.

Perhaps it was wrong to assume everyone has a center stand although i only know of one bike that dosen't because of a brace being in the way

I have amended my instructions to cover this now as we dont want bike's falling over everyware :'(

Hmmm now thats strange i changed the shock while the bike was on the centre stand but there is marks on the rear seat unit which look like the rear peg has touched it. Of course the rear end will drop dohh  :\  i can't figure out how they got there.

will this fit a fz6 2005 plate and will i need to upgrade the spring for my weight and pillion ?

:pokefun If the bike is on the centre stand the frame which the rear pegs are attached to is fixed and only the swing arm can move when the shock is disconected, so how can they contact the rear seat unit?

Right, new shock with only a little bother getting the shock bolt out.
went out for a blast earlier, wow I now own a missile that handles. Devilsyam you are a genius. Right start saving for the front fork upgrade. This is a must do upgrade :lol

good glad you like it yet another plus - least you get a chance to lube everything up so next time wont be so much grief getting bolts out

Rode to work today 50 miles, no existent, just pick a line and go  , several people have commented that the back of.the bike looks higher, I suspect that this is due to my old shock being fuc'd, also noticed that you get the front end to rise realy easily so lots of fun
