I have been using EBC sintered or Brembo sintered for the past 30 years and never had an issue with either of them.
Wouldn't Buy EBC discs though, had them two different bikes and had to take took them off as they did not work when cold and worse in wet cold..
Using Brembo discs ever since.

Thanks - the brembo ones seem harder to get hold of - after a very quick look.
Reading back through the forum the EBC ones always seem to be at the bottom of the favourite list

Noticed that too but I find the HH ones excellent. I think the complaint was high wear level on the discs which I never noticed. My 600 discs were close to the wear limits at 70000miles but did not think it was to do with the EBC pads, but more down to use as I worked in the city and to many traffic lights  Big Grin

On the wear issue and city riding and red lights - my thinking is that you would be lighter on the breaks because you just dont need them as much as you would if you spent your time flying around country lanes.

I was doing both, country lanes and city, but I use the geabox a lot on the twisties, in slow fast out, which is why I rarely get more than 3-4000 miles out of the tyres

Been using the Galfer G-1054 pads for a few years now, as they are very gentle on discs but work well in all weathers.
I maintain the calipers before and after winter to keep them running smoothly, but the pads last a very long time and don't even crumble on the edges like some pads can do. They look like new when given a clean up.
I bought some more quite a while ago as they are sometimes sold at a bargain price by Calsports on Ebay, so it made perfect sense to buy something that would no doubt rise in price further down the line.
Great pads for the front, but i still use SBS Ceramic on the rear.

Sounds like the perfect riding mix for testing brakes.
+1 on using the gearbox.

Seems to be 1054 1370 and 1375 but I cnot find any 1370 only 1054 and 1375 ( which seem a bit OTT )

Used to use EBC many years ago but found them to produce too much dust for my liking which then put me on the search for alternative pads.

I cant speak for Galfer, the little I know of them is that they are the bottom end of the market. I have tried 'Goldfren', but only one time because the HH (purple) pads ate my discs, so I had to formally request Goldfren replace the discs F.O.C. etc.

Regarding SBS, @Gnasher might have some input on these, I think it was him that made me aware of these pads?

Yes I have read through a lot of old posts and read his posts about them.
My current pads are carbone Lorraine A3+ shintered but can not find them any more

Bottom end of the market? Where exactly are you getting that info from? Apart from the occasional reduction in price when they're offered on sale, they are hardly inexpensive normally.
Goldfren however certainly are a budget option, I tried them once and that was enough for me.
And if you've ever read my posts you'll have noticed that I can't talk highly enough about Galfer pads. My main point being they are very gentle on brake discs, yet do the job well in all weathers.
Funnily enough I've just come in from servicing my brakes, and as usual once I clean the pads up they look like new, with no flaking or uneven wearing at all. I don't suppose it really matters too much, but in comparison my SBS ceramic pads on the back were all flaky and yet have been on my bike one year less than the Galfer pads on the front
As I've said many time before though, I do have aftermarket discs on the front and the SBS I tried started wearing the discs very quickly, which I spotted early, so I sold them on here and once replaced with Galfer everything was good again.
I do know that SBS work fine with OEM discs though, so by no means am I badmouthing them in any way whatsoever.
In fact I still have my OEM discs so if I do ever change them I may even give them another go in the future.
