Hi All, I am a new member and hoped I can get advice on a rear shock absorber upgrade please? I have seen lots of posts about R6 and BMW S1000r shock mods but is there any other options that I can buy that bolt straight in but wont break the bank? I have a 2003 Fazer 1000.
Many thanks, Gaz

No transplants from any other bikes, only the aftermarket shock range such as:YSSHagonNitronOhlinsBitubo
etcYou could also rebuild the standard shock and add a Hyperpro spring, but it'll still have a standard shock's valving.
For what it's worth, the R6 shock conversion is well worth doing providing you're not a stick insect or a bloaterEDIT: I think Luke/ Devilsyam sells all the parts needed for the conversion
Sadly Devilsyam is not an option. RIP Luke.

Sadly Luke (DevilsYam) is no longer with us so your options for a bolt in solution are limited. I would keep an eye on the members market as somethig may pop up there. You could explore getting the existing shock refurbished, regassed and resprung for your weight, this would make a noticable difference and shouldn't break the bank, you'd want to get reccomendations for suspension specialists that could do this for you first.

Sh1t :eek Apologies, I didn't know that :o
Only yesterday I fitted the R6 shock, supplied to me by DevilsYam 2 years ago.
I had no idea we had lost him.
RIP Luke.
S1000rr shock is the dogs danglies
Whats your budget? you can get a Nitron street shock for about £380, and they are custom seto for your weight and riding style.
At some stage we all like to think we’re invincible, when in truth, we know we’re not. As I was told many years ago “We’re only here for a visit”. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe we lost Luke back in February.RIP.
